David Marshall and Tony Tan were from there. More recent generation, Mah Bow Tan, George Yeo and Teo Chee Hean. Notable non-politicans therefrom are Philip Yeo and Gerrard Ee.

RI and ACS also have many, if not the same number so I think the word 'mainly' here is not correct.

Seriously, I think old St. Joseph's was good in large part because of the environment, with the whole row of old Bras Basah bookshops beside it and the old National Library opposite.
