My struggle as a degree holder. I teared in the doctor’s office...

Young sinkies born after 1980 will always be labelled "the lost generation" after failed economic and unfair immigration policies robbed them of opportunities. When you have unrestricted labour migration into the country, the locals not only lose out on getting a wage.. but more importantly work experience.

In 20 years time the entire lost generation will turn 50, without much savings and job skills... Many will turn to the 2 casinos for sustenance

So any political party who opts the populist stance and promises state welfarism will most likely be in power.

Thank you Pap for planting the seeds of ruin over the past 8 years.

hi there

1. the hard truth really hurts.
2. these are squeezed in-between.

Worse type of Sinkie is those fresh grads. Not as cheap as foreign trash. Not as experienced to take on good jobs. Faced with sky high prices for flats and cars. This type of life is Swaziland standard.

What a loser. It is not difficult getting a teaching job. You don't even need honours. This guy's results must have been really bad or he has a lousy character which shows up at interviews.

Between 2008 and 2012 there were times of high demand for graduates to do admin work. Guess he thinks it is too lowly for him.

Initially, I wanted to apply to be a teacher or National Parks Board but the jobs were scarce and extremely competitive. Unless you had first class honours, getting a good job was out of the equation.

One of the oppo pig losers. Those who can't make it always blame the government. The WP better watch out if they ever become the government. The same whiners will blame them for their own shortcomings.

Who did he voted for during last GE?

You want to know my story?
Immediately ROD, I apply for 3 jobs, got 2 interviews on the same day, one in the morning (nearest to my house) and other in the afternoon.

I attend the morning interview and I got hired on the spot and the local boss told me to report for work the next day for medical check-up.

If i am not mistaken was during mid to late 70s ya.

U r right. Went for job interview. On the spot, signed the Letter of Offer. Next day medical examination/start work leow. And i am such a job hopper. Even while i juz got a job, i still applied for another job in the classified ads. Juz hoping to get better pay. Jobs was plentiful. Companies "stealing" staffs fm one another. Tere was once i really malu. Went for a job interview with UBS. The HR manager of the Swiss bank happened to be a good friend of my bank's HR manager. Really malu siaz...:o

Nowadays? Dont say perm job. Certain part time job u still need to wait for their call. But usually gone case leow.

I got no degree... wasted first 15 years of my life after NS. Now I'm doing well enough, although I do not want to reveal what I do for a living for privacy reasons.

A lot of people think just because they have a university degree, for that matter 2nd class honours or above, or better still, a Master degree, then they are set for lifetime of success, at least financially. That's absolutely not true.

I think it's people who take risks that somehow will make it. Having no degree, not even a diploma, I chose a particular line to specialize in, and start from the very bottom earning very minimal wages. As I go along I learn on the job, and after a few years I took on professional certifications which opened up doors for me to be head hunted, eventually landing my present job.

But in the longer term, I aim to be financially free, running my own business in another field, maybe in another country. Like Forest Gump says, "Life is like a box of chocolates..."

I pay my children Tuition Teachers average $45-55/hr.

Sometime part time job is better paid than full time.

Hi all, I like to share my stories here..
a) I left Singapore since 2004 (after SARS crisis) when my country called me choosy and advised me to re-train my skills after 9 yrs of experience in my field.
b) I knew my days were numbered in Sg, as I seen all nationalities flowing in Sg by plane, boats and motor bikes.
c) After quiting, I've spent 2.5 yrs in Australia before promoted to a Technical Mgr.
d) IMHO, sinkies are hardworking, efficient and write well. Should be in a higher class.
e) In my current Oz firm, they have Singapoeans or Asians in middle or senior level... While pinoys are employed as security guards - even if they have their locals degree.

Don't get despair.. Step outside your comfort zone. I m sure there are heaps of Angmo firms that recognize your talents and skills. Call whoever ' Big Daddy' if they provide you with shelters and comfort. Fuck those who abandoned you!

Guess what ? I never look back ! I'm a proud Australian ! Ozie Ozie Ozie ! Oei Oei Oei !!

BTW, based on this guy's story, had these pinoys not been making the sales calls good, the other 5 locals wouldn't even have jobs. How to argue against imports?

Excellent point. I have added to your rep. Now please reduce the size of your font before I zap you instead.

Hi, can i clarify why your company will hire Pinoys who are known to have lower IQs to guard the premises? What if they got duped into opening doors for strangers?

You are a very unsinkified individual... a prime example for sinkie losers in this forum to look up upon on.

Don't you know you can cheat and study and memorise IQ test? Singapore education produces people that regurgitate stuff not thinkers. There is always one right answer in an IQ test.
Since Singapore ranks so well in that list, why do 60% vote for the PAP every 5 years no matter what! :p

You don't want ppl you called LOSERS to join another LOSER'S camp , do you?

But as always, being a LOSER yourself, you can't seem to figure this out!:D
