50 years of lessons we get from PAP teaches us one thing.
That is, SG should never rely on just 1 party.
If WP becomes ruling party, its very likely that they will become another PAP. Just look at how stubborn WP is now. It does not even entertain the opposition supporters who invited them to attend protests as peaceful attendees.
They made very bold claim to be the co-driver who slaps the driver.
LTK freezes.
What credibility does WP have other than ability to give rhetorics?
Its very easy to talk rhetorics. Any dick can do that.
Just say what the people want to hear.
WP also has been distancing from other opposition.
Even when its not a ruling party it is already so snobbish .
I think they placed their party interest above ours.
WP is still useful. But I have to be honest and not anyhow make claims like WP.
WP has not lived up to what it promised.
WP is not the solution. Its only a calafaire. A Wayang.
It does not have the courage to speak up on some of the main issues.
I do not expect WP can lead successfully as a ruling party. It does not have the right DNA.
To prevent another PAP, we need MULTI-PARTY VIEWS and Opposition Alliance. We need a mature 2 party system.

what has Low thia piak proven ? he can only be heard in funerals, in parliament he can stat a sub committee and head the
“Silence and obedience in pariliament membership forum” he is the most most most well behaved ops! opposition in the history of Singapore..
Yet most can consider he the better than JBJ and David Marshall and CST.
sUPPOSE WE gather Low entire work and weight, it wont event be equal to the coughs of those ex opposition .
Paid to be silent and obedient .

Why should WP MPs risk their comfortable 15k/month salary and stir shit in Parliament ?
They get paid for saying and doing nothing which is a better deal than opposing the PAP.
However come 2016, these wayang MPs will emerge from their hibernation and start to stir some shit. Just wait and see.

WP just like an idiot...:

Forget about WP, LTK best friend of LKY, no balls MP. He has been in parliament 20 over years what has he done? LHL loves him so much because WP only WAYANG and roar like a lion only in GE rally. The whole party is like a church mouse, anyone will think the WP is PAP. Do not put your hope on WP, already shown after all these years they are not a good opposition, they are happy to collect $16000 salary and be a seat warmer. Vote SDP, SFP or KJ.

Wayang Party:

WP is Wayang Party – once in a while perform some “heated argument” with PAP members to con the voters that they are against PAP/PAP policies.
Pay attention and watch their performance, any fool can see that they are a secret branch of the PAP. Just wayang to fool voters.
Remember what LTK said? …… PAP will rule for another 50 years.
Which genuine oppo member would say this? When he said this, he seemed to be quite pleased about it.
All genuine oppo parties would certainly aim to take over the govt if possible – only WP expects & quite happy that PAP will rule for another 50 years….. ANOTHER 50 years ! It has to be pro-PAP for him to conceive in his mind !

WP is weak:
November 5, 2014 at 8:14 pm (Quote)

Sad to say WP is a very weak opposition. Against the PAP in Parliament u cant just sit there and talk. WP got to stand up and challenge the issues that are posing problems for Singaporeans in a much stronger way. WP should show they are there in the Parliament and they are worth to be counted. When JBJ was in Parliament , PAP would shiver. JBJ would ask questions on PAP’s policies and PAP wouldn’t be able to answer it. JBJ was one man. But he was intelligent and smart. He asked all the right questions. He asked probing question. But in this WP they don’t have anyone of such caliber.

There are 3 bills up for debate in Parliament in January 2015 (link below). 1 of the 3 is the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Bill. The Bill aims:
"To allow trade unions of employees the majority of whose membership consists of non-executive employees (called rank and file trade unions) to represent executive employees for collective bargaining except executive employees with specific responsibilities; and
To extend the areas where rank and file trade unions can represent executive employees on an individual basis to include re-employment disputes."
Quickdraw analysis:
The percentage of employees who are professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) have risen to almost one-third of the resident labour force today, and is expected to rise to two-thirds by 2030. NTUC is seeking to maintain its relevance in this changing context. The changes will allow unions to represent PMEs for collective bargaining. Currently, unions may only represent PMEs on an individual basis.
The Bill also expands the scope to cover re-employment disputes. Re-employment will be an increasing flashpoint between employers and employees as the government encourages later retirement and tightens foreign manpower immigration. Currently, 1 in 5 PMEs are union members. NTUC aims to increase this to 1 in 4.
The public consultation document on the proposed amendments can be found here: https://www.reach.gov.sg/…/EConsult…/tabid/103/Default.aspx…

Great to be back to my backyard heartland! Last night's Punggol East Christmas party was super fun. We reached out to residents of a new corner estate. Amazing volunteers and a reunion for good friends, residents who enjoyed themselves and took selfies with Li Lian, lots of happy kids clutching prizes, great caroling that got people singing and swaying, and the Singapore Really Really Free Market adding life and spice at the void deck next door. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Chairman of AHPETC Sylvia Lim responds to the State Court's judgement.
"We decided to contest the case in court, not because we wanted to create trouble for a government agency but because we believe it is a matter of public interest. It concerns how a government agency should exercise its power conferred by law, and whether it acts in a fair and just manner."

The main problem with WP is that it is too quiet all this while even on lmajor issues like the CPF, PWP and trade agreements where the opposition party has lots of ammunition to attack and Sinkies expect it to rebut robustly, but alas, they did not make use. Even though SL repeatedly said that she would give an account of the TC’s S&SC charges, but it has been months, still no sound no picture giving DLee the bullets to tack WP constantly on this non disclosure.Sadly WP has lost credibility on non delivery of what it promises. What if WP forms the govt , it simply cannot afford to procrastinate in making important decisions, the TC issue is such a minor one and it takes so long, what do you think the voters of ALjunid GRC think, guilty? No case? It would be very precarious for WP if it continues to keep quiet whether on national issues or issues concerning their party or TC, GE is round the corner!

[h=5]Chen Jiaxi Bernard[/h]When MP Faisal first took over Kaki Bukit division in May 2011, these two shelters/ drop-off points at the carpark between Block 541 and 542 were not conducive for residents to board and alight during rainy days. The shelters/ drop-off point did not serve their intended purpose. After several house visits later, MP Faisal with the assistance of the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council decided to carve a space/ slot big enough for a vehicle into the existing cement structure so to make it more convenient for residents to board and alight during rainy days. Most importantly, it goes a long way in ensuring the safety of elderly residents during rainy days. This was a small but meaningful improvement from the works done by the previous town council. Instead of tearing down and rebuilding the entire structure which was not cost effective, MP Faisal exercised cost prudence and common sense in making improvements to his estate.

It's almost two on a Friday afternoon. The conservancy workers at the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council are busy giving the market at Block 511, Bedok North Street 3 its daily wash. And not forgetting the blocks in the vicinity as well. They are being kept clean and tidy too! Once again, thank you for the hard work in ensuring a clean and liveable environment for the residents in Kaki Bukit division, Aljunied GRC.

Did you know? The Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council embarked on a pest termination program in early 2014 to prevent the breeding of pests such as rats in the wards under its charge.

A chirpy end to 2014 at Kaki Bukit division, Aljunied GRC. Great effort on the part of the local merchant association to put this together with the assistance of the Town Council and the various stakeholders in the area. Another grassroots effort by local residents of Kaki Bukit division to bring in bird-singing enthusiasts from all over the island.

For a day, the entire centre is closed to facilitate the cleaning and washing process. This is to ensure that the stallholders can have a conducive environment to do business, and residents can have a friendly environment to meet friends and hang out. A big shout out to the conservancy workers and staff from the town council. And by the way, the last I checked at 29/12/2014, 2000 hrs the ceilings are clean.
