"Stop Abuse of NSFs" - Possible HLP Protest Topic?

Bro Sam,

I thought so I was doing NS to protect the nation. But that was the past and today wearing Army uniform and NSF duty is not worthy anymore.

Are the local boys supposed to be beholden to defend the nation when the government allowed employers to hire cheap foreign workers first and not the locals? Defending the nation is priceless and I believe even foreigners would like to do NSF in their own country if they have to. Deep in their heart they know defending their own country is their responsibility and pride. Some Malaysians I know want to be army boys to defend Malaysia but alas Malaysia do not have conscript NS.

Even the government do not hire local first but give away top jobs to foreigners (Amy Cheong case) and it does not make NSF worthy of the cause anymore.

NSF must be abolish and if it does not then it is abuse the local boys to make them toy solider not for defense but for PAP to brag its defense capability.

The pap can compel SG guys to do NS..But the PAP shd consider paying NSFs market rate for thier vocations...

YES,50 years of brainwashing and censorship by the MSM (TV,Radio and Newspapers).

many singaporeans are not able to have full or decent meals no thanks to the pap

oh yeah? every time i'm in sg i don't have full or decent meals too because cheap delicious yummy food is available 24 by 7 all over the island. in sg, you don't need full meals and there's no such thing as a decent meal. you don't want to. otherwise you'll become like a whale.

No, if they want to protect commercial property the soldier must be paid well.

This is cheap labour in the name of defence training and abuse of the PAP government.

using SAF to protect Changi Airport may be justified.

They can call you up to 40days in 1 year.

Commandos and Divers serve only 5 cycles (pls correct me if Im wrong), why are the rest of us different?

mee pok ta for sg$3 and kopi for sg$1 in the morning. nasi lemak for sg$3 and sugar cane drink for sg$2 at lunch time. yong tau fu for sg$4 and chendol for sg$2.50 at dinner time. total is sg$15.50 per day. very affordable. they are hardly full decent meals, but i can choose to eat healthy, light and in small portions in sg. in the u.s., i don't have the luxury of freshly cooked healthy food 24 by 7 all over in every corner like you do in sg. consider yourself spoilt and lucky.

Agree.

Time to pay market rate and make NSF a proper jobs but not an abuse. Pay NSF like a proper job I believe even the new citizens and PR will do it. New citizens and PR are not beholden to serve the nation if they are treated like cheap labours in NSF.

Foreigners are not daft and know they can get away and not to be taken as cheap labours.

anywhere in the world some folks are struggling to feed their families, more so outside of sg if one can live on sg$15 a day in sg as i have proven. everytime i return to the u.s. from sg and visit my doctor, she says i maintain excellent bmi and am in good shape overall, better than before.
