i disagree...NS is for protection of SG and Singaporeans.

The pap and SAF must change their mindset and not abuse NSFs.

Duty, Honor, Country? please...I serve my duty doing my compulsory "slavery", then full reservist plus extras for their explanation was that, they have shortage of births. ICT was a bane to my employer, each time the SAF 100 was shown; for it will be NORMALLY for more than 30 days. On top of it, there were minor weapons training that takes up 1 or 2 days, or special ranges weekends plus Silent Recall plus routine reporting plus IPPT.

Use your common sense to know what's right and what's wrong.

The pap can use legislation to compel SG guys to do NS.

But the pap has no foundation to stand on when:
1. SG guys are compelled to do NS and foreigners can just walk in to take up SG jobs
2. Employers frowns on SG guys compelled to do ICTs
3. NSFs are used as free labour for PAP-connected private businesses.

The pap can force singaporeans to do NS but the pap will lose the trust and support of Singaporeans for unfair decisions that discriminate and make life difficuklt for Singaporeans and for policies that favour foreigners.

The pap will lose the war for Singaporeans' hearts

I am glad that NEH has formed a Committee to look into how NS can be better managed. This Committee can start of by reviewing NS and how to stop the PAP abusing NS and favoruing foreigners and the pap business friends eg OBS

To protect your assets. If Singapore fails, instead of selling your pigeon hole for $1 million, it will be worthless. Instead of the SGD buying 0.8 USD, it will buy only 0.1 USD.

In order to cash out, you need to at least preserve the value of your assets and enhance them if possible.

The govt has done a good job in keeping the bull run going for many years. Eventually, all economies run out of steam. You have to make sure you're well positioned so you can emerge a winner.

Singapore's population stands at 72% - this includes the instant citizens, so strictly born, breed Singaporeans is probably at a conservative 65%?

With almost 1/2 of the country consisting of foreigners, can you really blame anyone for asking who are you protecting?
