using SAF to protect Changi Airport may be justified.
But what do you think of using NSFs for OBS' F1 races?
IMHO,OBS's F1 Races SHOULD NOT have used NSFs for their business activities.

Old habit die hard... They have been using "Free"... Cheap labors for so long... How to change? Pay those NS boys extra functional allowance$ to be fair!

You think you are Gen Douglas Mcarthur? Duty, Honor, Country? please...I serve my duty doing my compulsory "slavery", then full reservist plus extras for their explanation was that, they have shortage of births. ICT was a bane to my employer, each time the SAF 100 was shown; for it will be NORMALLY for more than 30 days. On top of it, there were minor weapons training that takes up 1 or 2 days, or special ranges weekends plus Silent Recall plus routine reporting plus IPPT.
I have done my time with pride and honor. It is now over to the next generation to do the same.
Both you and your employer have no sense of loyalty and obviously do not understand the concept of nationhood. A refresher NEC is in order.
Boss,I am sure most Singapore Citizens have done their NS with pride and honour to protect the nation and to prevent foreign aggression and invasion but now they are seriously asking "Why am I doing NS ?" "Do NS to protect who ?"

With almost 1/2 of the country consisting of foreigners, can you really blame anyone for asking who are you protecting?
Singapore's population stands at 72% - this includes the instant citizens, so strictly born, breed Singaporeans is probably at a conservative 65%?

To protect your assets. If Singapore fails, instead of selling your pigeon hole for $1 million, it will be worthless. Instead of the SGD buying 0.8 USD, it will buy only 0.1 USD.
In order to cash out, you need to at least preserve the value of your assets and enhance them if possible.
The govt has done a good job in keeping the bull run going for many years. Eventually, all economies run out of steam. You have to make sure you're well positioned so you can emerge a winner.
The army is used to protect a nation's asset during time of conflict.
Having said that, any idea why on God's green earth was our power station sold to foreign held entities?
"Japan’s Marubeni bought Singapore’s biggest power station. Senoko, for S$4bn in Sep 2008. Tuas, the smallest and most efficient in Singapore – to China’s Huaneng group for S$4.2bn in March 2008. In December 2008, Power Seraya was sold to YTL, a Malaysian company after it made an unsolicited offer for the power station. http://singaporemind.blogspot.com/2011/07/revisiting-decision-to-privatise-our.html
And your understanding of the piegeon hole as an asset is flawed. You don't own it, even after paying for it fully. HDB (garmen) can take it back as and when they decide and there is nothing you can do about it.
Those foreigners are enhancing the value of all your assets. You should be thankful the government has allowed them in.
Those who have not been impaled by one of these have no right to comment about NS matters...
Though i agree with you that SOME foreigners enhances the value of Singaporean's assets, a big bulk dont.
The art is how to carefully screen these foreigners so that only the Talent comes in while the Trash stays out.
