"Stop Abuse of NSFs" - Possible HLP Protest Topic?

it's not just "obs' f1 races." it is jointly signed by the sg authorities, f1 and sg gp pte. ltd. since the sg authorities are in it, they can suka suka leverage manpower to assist with the event.

Have also occasionally seen our NSmen patrolling and guarding commercial entities like Changi Airport and Oil Refineries.

... and being the loyal soldier that I am, I'd be only too happy to help out in any event that involves Singapore Inc.

When Singapore Inc wins, so do I. It's a symbiotic relationship.

not your feelings or desires.

not symbiotic relationship as that leads to corruption and nepotism.

as an Institution, shd NSFs be used to profit PAP connected businesses?

using SAF to protect Changi Airport may be justified.

But what do you think of using NSFs for OBS' F1 races?

You have not done NS so you are in no position to pass judgement. NS is about duty, honor and country.

I did 2.5 years plus a full 13 year cycle. I have never been abused. Every single time I put on my uniform, I was proud to serve my country and the issue of money has never even crossed my mind. Every day, every hour and every minute of my time was an investment in the security of my beloved nation.

You should go to some other forum where the subject matter is more suited to your intellect.

Boss, abit confusing and contradicting.U said u are proud to do NS to serve your beloved nation Singapore but now u are in NZ or Aussieland.

and i would rather volunteer at the f1 races than hanging around camp waiting for orders.

With the backlash as the PAP, I suspect NEH will not have the courage to send in NSFs as free labour for F1 races.

We are making good progress to have a more equal and just Singapore.

The poor and not well connected in SG should not be exploited by the pap to favour the rich and well connected

does the saf have F1 races duty in its NSF training programme?

If you had done NS, you wouldn't be asking these sorts of questions.

Ask any NS man whether he'd prefer 1 week in Hengchun camp or 1 week at an F1 race. There is simply no comparison.

Luckily this photo spares you the sight of a common drain piled 0.5m high with sinkie shit which is called a "toilet" and that's really stretching the definition of the word.

no, I disagree with you...NS is for the protection of SG and Singaporeans. It's not free labour to be abused by the pap

at any one time, there's an active brigade hq and full battalion on standby for immediate protection and reaction. many other battalions and trainees can be put to good use instead of them idling during peacetime.

I have done my time with pride and honor. It is now over to the next generation to do the same.

he does sound contradictory, doesnt he? so, dont believe what LeongSam said. Believe what he does.

when he left this shore he announced "I shall return"

You think you are Gen Douglas Mcarthur? Duty, Honor, Country? please...I serve my duty doing my compulsory "slavery", then full reservist plus extras for their explanation was that, they have shortage of births. ICT was a bane to my employer, each time the SAF 100 was shown; for it will be NORMALLY for more than 30 days. On top of it, there were minor weapons training that takes up 1 or 2 days, or special ranges weekends plus Silent Recall plus routine reporting plus IPPT.

So, it was an HONOR to server my country, at the expense of work, family & personal life, it is my duty to protect the people, foreign & local & country...sic! my boss will tell you, he rather employ a PR & FT...than us..for Reservist is disruptive to work flow..

So each time I go back for reservist, I think of what my boss say...& reflect on Gen MacArthur speech at Wespoint, "Honor, Duty, Country", & look around the FT filling positions that soon be gone for me... I feel proud to serve!

providing visible security details in a global event such as the f1 is definitely a national security priority.

welll said...thanks for your sharing and speaking your mind.

once a Singaporean. always a Singaporean. the fact that you quit SG speaks volumes

I have not quit SG. I'm merely on an extended vacation. When the country needs me, I shall return.

no..F1 is just a commercial transaction and has no national security implications. SAF must not allow NSFs to perform F1 duties

Old habit die hard... They have been using "Free"... Cheap labors for so long... How to change? Pay those NS boys extra functional allowance$ to be fair!
