With due respect to this thread starter;I have no wish to hijack this thread to an otherwise a scientific fact. But since this thread is about Thais and that the question of their origin invariably arises;here are some scientific facts.

Where did Asians migrate from?

http://www.koreaherald.com/national/Detail.jsp?newsMLId=20091212000013

A team of scientists from all over the world sponsored by Genome Institute of Singapore whose President is Edison Liu, in a statement released , referred to the study as "a milestone not only in the science that emerged. and that this is the first study to give a clear answer to the question on the origin of East Asian populations," .......Dr. Shuhua Xu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences endorsed that.

Details are in n a paper titled "Mapping Human Genetic Diversity in Asia," published online by the Human Genome Organization.

The scientific analysis is that our ancestors of today's Asian populations arrived first in India before migrating to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. From there, they traveled north.

In short, the Thais could very well be our forefathers.

That's nothing. You haven't seen how Thai army attacked Thai mosque in Narathiwat. About 140 were sprayed with bullets and the mosque walls and floors bloodbathed. The bodies were dragged out on the streets like what ancient Chinese called 游街示众。I was foreigner and basically none of my business and just watched and fucked off a.s.a.p. as the next ticket available. But it was hard to say the Thai army was too much too. It was the Thai muslims who raided Thai army camps first, unsuccessfully and got pursued into the mosque to to seek refuge. The commander ordered fire, shoot to kill all. There was no court case. All were dead. Incredibly, the Thai general who ordered the operation and execution was Sonthi Bonyaratglin, a Thai Muslim.

Ramseth makes a very good thrashy news reporter but an even better movie director... about on par with Stephen Spillbird.

Is not against the law either to bring a few sticks in except don't try selling them which is seriously frowned upon.

But only for action movies, those with a lot of gore and blood and maimed animals.

So funny you can actually find Aussie aborigines living in southern Thailand having their own culture but speaking Thai really strange.

I believe the Aussie aborigines are Melanesians, not Polynesians. Polynesians are from the South Pacific islands, like the Kiwis, Hawaiians etc. I could be wrong but then again not.

The dark skinned people of S.Thailand like Aussie aborigine are 'Orang Asli" aka' Sakai'....you will find them many more in P.Malaysia..a good location is Cameron Highlands.

The very same people to whom once Singapore belonged to;the 'Orang Laut'---when Raffles landed they were inhabiting the entire Kallang and Singapore River, than pushed back to the banks of Seletar River....and later pushed uo North into Johor/Malaya.Perhaps,the ones now in Thailand were the first ever roadrunners from Singapore.

History repeats itself eh?

Yes that's correct. Polynesians have a more malay type of look. They are usually very big and strongly built.

Those negro looking ppl in papua new guinea are related to the aboriginals.

Aha, just finished my meeting with some sales guys and my manager. Going for some Thai food now with some cold singha. Cheers.

I make lots of trips to BKK for work, but I can't see myself calling it home. Yes, it's got great food, shopping, everything you want in life... but there's something called quality of life that's missing. I find that quality of life in Australian, Canadian and some European cities, but not in SEA countries.

I was considering Canada because I got friends, relatives & am familiar with the lifestyle there:).

However although it's a nice place to work & bring up a family, I'm already an uncle. Not much life left lah:( I want to spend the years I have left somewhere tropical & vibrant. Even if I am not active I can watch the world move at a faster pace:)

They are the same.Just different localized name.Even the web link you provided use the terminology 'Sakai' FYI.....Of course anthropologists uses the terminology negritos to describe them.... pygmy people who began to radiate through the lands some 30,000 years ago, were the first known human migrants into this region..there are still genetic traces of these short, woolly haired, round headed people in the jungles of E.sumatra and in the highlands of Irian Jaya. Two provinces in Philippines is named as the Negritos and most of the Andman and Nicobar island is inhabited by them.

You may ask why than do they look different?....Different waves of human from different age migrated to the same region. For example, those who migrated during the stone age and those who migrated during the bronze age held different customs and features ...like the Negritos and Wedoide tribes-follower of the Mesolithicum (old age) CultureBut there was a good 30k years difference between them. But they inter married d.And further the Wajak man was the earliest known homo-sapiens in this region...he lived 10 000 to 12 000 years ago ..but no trace of them.Which I speculate to be obliterated through through mixing and marrying.

Anyway,no tribe could have droped from the sky. They are all our ancestors.Just that some chose to live as they are not wanting to mix and in course of time become isolated..

Bro, you got to stop bullshitting like this . You are seriously ill. Only 32 were killed in the Mosque. The highest toll in a single incident is the 85 men who were smothered to death in the back of army trucks after they their hands and legs were bound and thrown into the lorry 5 deep. It was called the Tak Bai Massacre and it was a separate incident about 5 months later in a different part of Thailand. Sonthi in 2004 when the Mosque was raided was not in command and not near the area at all. These are world events. Your good friend like calling others dishonest but where you are concerned, everything swee!

I know you're banned now and can't reply. There's nothing to gain for me by bullshitting. I'm only sharing what I saw. You're the one seriously sick with obsessive compulsion to prove that you know more than others. It's incredible that you believe mitigated media reports and tolls instead of eyewitness accounts. Go Wiki or Google, Bangkok Post or The Nation, but be forewarned, some of the articles in achives were contributed by me. I have only this to say. I was there. I may be some kind of a calamity jack who somehow happened to be right there in Bangkok and LA riots 1992 too in the midst of the chaos, more than a decade before the Thai southern insurgency. Happy to say, I'm also a lucky jack who managed to survive and run like hell fast enough.

The Bangkok 1992 riots, the soldiers were on own time own target fire at will over a week before the King stopped them. The death toll reported was less than 100. You believe that? The LA 1992 riots when every other was shooting at every other one as most of Los Angeleans own firearms. It took one week before the army was called in to contain the situation and clear up the mess over two more weeks. The death toll reported was only about 50. You believe that?

I don't blame you too much though. I'd have believed media reports like you and everyone else if I hadn't been there to see it for myself.

I actually wanted to ban him to flex some muscles in a legitimate way. You notice I never infract or ban the clones posting against me. That's not in the rulebook. I respect Leongsam's rules. Scroobal with this thread is trolling for his personal perverted agenda trying to create fray out of nothing. I've tolerated many years already. He once in a while will suddenly bring up the F4 saga and start accusing people I'm not his match, not even Cptl. GMS.

Bullshitting?? Ramseth you are the king of Bullshitting
