It’s been a long time. We had been holding our monthly My Buona Vista informal policy dialogues virtually or in a hybrid format over the last two years. So really happy to be able to resume in-person sessions to meet many of our residents under the same roof again last evening.
Engaging in conversation and discussing topical issues of the day frankly, building trust and awareness of the issues confronting Singapore and Singaporeans.

Sustainability …
Our forefathers imbued in us this value before the word became common lexicon.
It is our goal and responsibility as stewards to leave behind a better place for future generations.
As the challenges of #climatechange and environmental sustainability multiply, we must double our efforts to inculcate the same values in our young, help them understand the emerging challenges and seize the opportunities ahead.
Just as our forefathers turned our water constraint into an opportunity, we too can aspire to turn energy and carbon constraints into opportunities for the next generation.
Would like to express our appreciation to more than 60 participants who made time to join us on a Saturday morning for the Green Plan Conversation. And we will look for opportunities to partner you in co-creating and co-delivering practicable sustainability solutions.

Glad to meet Dervin at one of our regular MOE dialogues with youths to listen to their perspectives and ideas. He proudly pointed out that we had something in common and suggested a photo for keepsake. CCS

Keechiu wants school to be a home away from home.

A home away from home – that was what school was for many of us during our student days, and also for our students now.
At Boon Lay Garden Primary School, it was clear the students greatly enjoy bonding with peers over fun and games after school, and making new discoveries together in the classroom and beyond.
Many thoughtful details in the school reflect the care that the teachers have put into meeting the holistic needs of the students. These include dedicated spaces to guide the young students in making sense of their feelings and emotions, interacting with others positively, and nurturing strong self-esteem.
The natural rapport and warm interactions between the teachers and students speaks volumes about their strong bond. And this is exactly what home is – an unwavering support network and community that empowers you to be the best that you can be, and a place where you are appreciated for who you are.
