Grouting is traditionally a labour-intensive task. This robot by Fabrica AI can grout tile gaps and clean off excess grout autonomously, and doubles the productivity per worker!

These are small cross sections of plunge-in columns, used to provide structural support in major construction work. These columns tend to be long and large, which imposes constraints when transporting and installing them.

Woh Hup collaborated with the Singapore Institute of Technology to come up with high strength steel plunge-in columns that are lighter, smaller, yet equally effective.

Met two young Woh Hup staff members, Alyssa Voon and Bernice Lee. Glad that they are enjoying the work that they do, and still constantly finding ways to upskill!

HSK was pleased to meet Suzhou Party Secretary Cao Lubao.

It was my pleasure to meet Suzhou Party Secretary Cao Lubao yesterday. This is his first visit overseas since his appointment and he has made Singapore his first stop.
Suzhou and Singapore share a special connection – the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) is Singapore and China’s first Government-to-Government project established in 1994. Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew was deeply involved in initiating this, and I learnt much when working with Mr Lee then. The SIP has done well and is top-ranked amongst China’s Economic and Technological Development Zones since 2016.
As the SIP approaches its 30th anniversary in 2024, Party Secretary Cao and I discussed how we could commemorate this milestone, and shared ideas on how the next phase of SIP’s development can bring value to Suzhou, China, Singapore and the world. Over the years, our leaders, officials and businesses from both sides have built up strong relations and mutual trust. With this as foundation, SIP can continue to be a pathfinder for new areas of cooperation between China and Singapore in the years ahead.
Our collaboration with Suzhou reflects Singapore’s longstanding commitment since independence to forge partnerships at the bilateral, regional and international levels, so as to tackle challenges, seize new opportunities, and create value together.

Visited my residents earlier this week.
We chatted about various matters, including the recent Budget. Many of them spoke positively about the key announcements, and I was happy to share with them the available support measures.
If you would like to find out more about how the Budget affects you, or share your views and feedback, please join me and my fellow Advisers at our Post Budget Dialogue this Sunday, 26 February. You can sign up at https://go.gov.sg/ecpostbudget23.

This year’s Budget Debate saw MPs raising views and suggestions on a range of issues, from housing and support for workers, to the cost of living and our reserves. All these revolved around the central question – how do we take Singapore forward?
DPM Lawrence Wong, in his round-up speech yesterday, highlighted that we must do what is right for today, and for tomorrow. We were able to tap on our reserves to weather crises like the recent pandemic, only because our forefathers were prudent and disciplined in building it up. As we tackle today’s challenges like cost-of-living pressures and supporting our workers and families, we must do so in a fiscally sustainable and responsible manner, so as to take care of both the present and the future generations.
In this new era of a more troubled and uncertain world, our commitment to doing what is right for today and for tomorrow, will enable us to move forward and build a brighter shared future together.

Kicked off the weekend with a lively visit to the Blk 16 market yesterday! My fellow Advisers and I chatted with stallholders and families about the Budget support measures. We assured them that the Budget is designed to support everyone — businesses, workers, and households.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, and a special thanks to our activists and volunteers who joined us on this walkabout. It was good seeing everyone!

After more than a week of vigorous debate, Parliament approved the government’s spending plans for the new fiscal year and passed the Supply Bill today.
As Leader of the House Indranee Rajah shared, each year’s Budget builds upon the previous ones, ensuring that our households, workers and businesses are supported and well-positioned for the future. Importantly, we must always ensure that our policies and plans are anchored by a fair and sustainable fiscal plan. This year is no different. The various Ministries have put forth a strong set of plans to empower Singapore and Singaporeans to navigate a more uncertain world with assurance and confidence.
Every Singaporean can play a part and make a difference, as Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin said in his wrap up speech. Together, we can seize opportunities and build a better Singapore!

Happy International Women’s Day!
Women wear multiple hats at home and at the workplace — colleague, supervisor, wife, mother, daughter, sister. It can be a lot to juggle, so this year, I’d like to send my best wishes and appreciation to the women leaders, collaborators and colleagues in my team. I am proud to work alongside you, as we contribute to building a better Singapore!
The government will continue to support and empower women in Singapore holistically. We are enabling women to participate more fully in the workplace, increasing the Baby Bonus, supporting caregivers, and increasing paternity leave. These policies and measures must be matched by our actions and values — at home, at the workplace, in the community — to enable women to flourish and realise their fullest potential. This is how we can build a more fair and inclusive society together.
