I always enjoy hearing from students about their innovation projects. It was encouraging to see students from different majors such as Computing, Design, Engineering and Psychology, working together on infrastructure systems for autonomous vehicles and more. Well done!

There is a full moon tonight.
It is the fifteenth day of the Chinese New Year, or Chap Goh Mei. It is also on this full moon day that we celebrate Thaipusam. For the first time in two years, the traditional foot procession, carrying of kavadis and festive music will be back in full swing.
The same full moon, but different meanings. This is the character of the multi-cultural and multi-racial society that we live in.
I wish everyone a fulfilling Thaipusam and a wonderful Chap Goh Mei! May we continue to be a cohesive and united people!

Happy 5th Birthday, HeartbeatBedok!
Heartbeat@Bedok is also the heartbeat of Bedok.
It can’t be more true when we interacted with the crowd on Saturday when they gathered there to take part in the festivities. Despite the rain, residents turned out in force and the atmosphere was palpable.
The “can-do kampong spirit” of East Coast is what makes this place special. There is much more we can do to care for one another, and create a more vibrant and greener community.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves. My team and I surely did! A big thank you to staff, volunteers and residents for your contributions!

Trust is one of the most critical global currency today, especially in a more fragmented and volatile world. Trust in our rule of law and transparency has enabled Singapore to thrive as a vibrant economy.
Many are understandably concerned that the Government had not mounted charges against former Keppel employees involved in the corruption scandal. They were worried that this would erode the very currency that has made us successful.
Minister Indranee Rajah explained in Parliament yesterday why AGC had only given them stern warnings. Without key witnesses who were prepared to testify here, the available evidence was insufficient. But if new evidence comes to light, this decision can be reviewed.
Corruption has no place in our society and our economy. This has not and will not change.

Public housing is a key tenet of our social compact. Over the years, we have refined our housing policies to keep pace with Singaporeans’ needs and aspirations.
In light of recent concerns over housing supply and affordability, Desmond Lee spoke in Parliament yesterday about how we will continue to keep public housing affordable and accessible. HDB is ramping up supply till 2025, with more Short Waiting Time flats in the pipeline. We are also studying how to better support first time families.
We are committed to keeping public housing affordable and accessible, and enabling Singaporeans to build homes and families.
