The main bet is the USA makan. The over is the hedging bet.

The counter part to this is Favourite pang + under 2.5 goal.
A good example of when to use this is the Argentina-Iran match.

You pang Argentina because they are heavily favored to win.
You however hedge your bet with under 2.5 goal because they are playing Iran who uses a unique 0-0-11 formation.

Cheers aurvandil. That's a good lesson for a betting newbie like me. I guess the first question you would ask yourself if do you think the favourite can win by 2 or more goals than move on from there.

Both of these sides excel on the counter-attack, and have a few players capable of doing real damage on the break. However, Algeria looked highly impressive in almost shutting out Belgium in their opening group game, and they could just snatch it. I was really surprised Iran held off the giants of football until the 90+1 minute injury time. If not for Messi I would have won money on that game. I had a small bet on "draw" purchased at good odds. Messi just had to screw me at the 91st minute and spoil my fun :-( :-(

First of all, football is a sport. let's be clear about that. Professional players play the game to win, punters bet on them to win, lose or whatever... SGPools offer bets relying on odds on the outcome of a game. No one can help you if you are "naïve" to think that you can predict the result of any game and put money down to think you are right. If the result doesn't work out as what you expect, you shout "kelong!" like the uneducated uncles do every night at the coffeshop near my place.

I hear some of the logic such as, "Brazil only need a draw to be in the next stage so a draw is likely..." or "Costa Rica already thru, so they no need to play so hard to win and keep their players for the second round..." and I have to laugh. They think Brazil want a draw, they will get a draw? If sports is like that where everyone can determine the results, then no need to play sports already. 90 minutes is a long time to manipulate a fixed game without people noticing something amiss.

Your views on SGPools is how you look at it, not a reflection of what is true. It is a bet on odds, nothing more. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose - odds are that in the long run, you lose because of "gambler's ruin" setting in. And in football, the result is notoriously difficult to predict.

Good summary. I came across punters who shouted kelong when ball hit the bar!

Just 2 points I wish to add wrt kelong. Punters decide on their bets first. Bookies accept their bets. Even if there was kelong, bad luck if punters chose the wrong team.

Kelong biz is not as easy as most believe. Assuming you pay a team US$10 million to throw a game away, can the syndicate throw out 15m in bets to make a 5m profit? Not so easy when you have max bet amount per click and per game.
