World Cup 2010 Forecastology

Your statement very misleading leh, Czechoslovakia, Euro champions in 1976, 2 runners 1934/1962 in WC. The Czech and Slovakia splits in 1993, from 1993 till now, which country play better football? The Czech or Slovakia? The Czech was runner up in Euro 96 and 3rd in Euro 04.

There's nothing misleading. I've separated Czechoslovakia, Czech and Slovakia clearly.

Yugoslavia was once a power house in Europe also, now divided by Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia (better known soccer country), Macedonia, Bosnia and the rest. So they all can take Yugoslavia past achievements as their history? If Mecedonia is in Slovakia position now, are you going to say they were past of Yugoslavia achievements? No right?

Of course not, I'm not claiming shared past achievements for any single country as part of their new history, just indicating the tradition from which they come. From the breakup of Soviet Union, we did see the rise of Ukraine as a team to be reckoned with on its own. From Yugoslavia, we did see Croatia, 3rd in World Cup 1998 no less.

Surprising to hear that from you. Your favourite Uruguay versus South Korea should be the easiest of games for you to bet on without a blink. USA versus Ghana is a bit tricky though, but I'd give USA the edge.

I know Ulu Kueh will win but possibility ''aet''. :)

I hope Kimchi beat them n go into quarter finals...yeah!!!

Kimchi will get screwed until they moan Kimochi and beg for mercy. Argentina was just foreplay for them. They haven't tasted real South American giant awakening yet.

After yesterday's bloodbath, today is like a funeral at the bookies. The fresh meat has not arrived and the herd which survived yesterday's culling is off doing something else. Hopefully those that need to gamble will feel the urge closer to 5 pm to 6 pm.

Urugauy-South Korea The feelings of Equalisation best sum up the feelings of the herd. They think Uraguay will win. South Korea is however a favoured dark horse and there is fear of an upset. Hence the herd is staying out.

USA-Ghana USA is a the fovourite dark horse of the herd. It is however the team favoured to win the match. The herd is again showing a lack of interest and staying out.

Uruguay shall walk over South Korea like a stroll in the park (no pun intended as there're Korean players surnamed Park).

USA shall have to fight for it to overcome Ghana. Folks are a-talking about a possible penalty shoot-out between Germany and England, but this match may well end up with the first shoot-out of the tournament.

In the second round, they quickly changed tactics and adopted an aggressive formation. This payed dividends and Brazil looked somewaht disoriented for much of the 2nd half.

This Brazil team is very different from past Brazil teams. Not much players with individual flair like the Ronaldos or Ronaldinhos. I think Dunga has done a good job in instilling great teamwork in this Brazil team, although they may lack a bit of samba from the prev, but the teamwork and play of this Brazil is quite efficient. 2nd placed in qualifiers behind Chile. The last match against Portugal can't take into consideration as some of the players are rested. As they have already qualified, not losing was the main consideration. Can't expect the players to go all out. Both teams have their moments to score but a scoreless draw was a fair result as both teams were trying not to lose than trying to win the game. The 2nd half is like the same with most matches where since there is nothing to fight for, just pass the ball around and wait for the final whistle.

The pricing structure of this match concurs with what you say about a draw. The pricing structure is very similar to the England-Germnay match which seems to have gone into overdrive in the mind game department.

I am not saying they are a lousy team ... just saying they are not invincible. Yesterday's match was quite boring ... the only interesting part is that it was the first real test against a side of quality and the test revealed some weakness in their play. It seems too much of a stretch to think this was faked so I tend to think it is real. The teams who are lined up against them would have taken notes and would be looking to exploit these weaknesses.

USA this year improved a lot from the prev world cup. Writing them off will be a mistake. Ghana has the last hope for Africa. It's going to be a tight match, though I think the crowd will be on USA instead.

South Korea is a team where I really wrote them off from start based on their qualifying results and 2006 campaign. Though they are good, but Japan would be the better Asian team based on Endo and Honda's good form. So far Uruguay has only impressed by drawing weak France, beating S.Africa 3-0 and old Mexico 1-0. S.Korea's only bad was giving Argentina too much respect. If the Koreans play their normal game plus having a motivated crowd behind them, I think they can be the 1st to go quarter final provided they don't go beyond 90mins. Not saying Uruguay is no good, but so far, Uruguay didn't really impress me much as Korea's route to 2nd round in their group was actually much tougher and able to qualify at the expense of Nigeria. To beat Greece 2-0 is a good result.

The only chink in their armour is their lack of concentration in defense where they let North Korea scored a goal in return. But last night match was a low scoring and kind of bookie's match of having a draw result. The jalan odds wasn't favouring any win at all. Both teams were under zero pressure to perform. Unlike the italian game where italy chased the game too late:p

Although I didn't understand before that why Dunga took Gilberto Silva, but after watching the matches, this player calms the whole team and considered one of those players who performed well but not being mentioned frequently.

England goes into another mode when they play against strong teams. Playing against weaker teams don't give them the motivation to perform and even if they play them, they seldom produce big scoring results. Only against the big teams and the walls behind their backs, they start to get lucky.

So far Germany is favourite, but England is punters' favourite.

The herd was mainly buying Brazil to win yesterday. Consistent heavy bet flow all though the day. The way the match turned out got a lot of people to kao pei "kelong" which is why today is such a slow boring day.

nahbeb! portugal played like shit ...big bully became so lame with brazil...slaughtered and humiliated the north koreans...and suddenly nothing came out of the game with brazil...nahbeh hope they lose badly in the next game!....even cote dlvoire gave chance to the north koreans...nabmeh 7 goals!!!...what a humiliating defeat. GOD will punish portugal for its unsporting spirit! amen.

I think Chile has a chance against Brazil.
Chile has a rather "reckless" but also exciting style of attacking play and they could give Brazil a nasty surprise.
Maicon and Bastos like to attack and Lucio and Juan are not exactly the fastest around.
If Chile take a shock lead, Brazil may not have the flair and firepower to break them down. Only Kaka and Robinho look dangerous on the ball.

The current Brazil team play as a team, very different from Ronaldo, Romario era. 1 thing i know that their defence has improved, with fullbacks who can run and score. If you look at their defence, Cesar, Alves, Lucio, Maicon, Gilberto. With Kaka, Robinho and Baptista holding the attacking midfield, they are very strong.

If you look at the team, only Fabiano is the only recognised striker, with Nilmar as the protege of Kaka. Dunga is convinced that other departments also can score, thats why he didnt bring Adriano and Pato

kimchis and ulus will draw scoreless at full time..both kamikaze players...the ulus are more reckless and play like mad men...kimchis more focused but lapses happened...ulus go for ball very hard...every man tackle like mad man...

so i predict a very tough, hard and vigorous game...the side which keeps the sanity will score...the side which runs amok like the ulus will lose...

i put my dollar for 1 goal for the kimchis....haha
