Hello!

Thanks for publication of my articles so many times.

I didn't expect such a big reaction.

Anyways, at the end of the day, anyone can brand any ideas, Democracy, Socialist, Capitalist, Communist, Dictatorship, etc... etc... etc...

We can argue over this until the sun rises from west, and set on east...

Whatever our views, unless we are the government in power, in control of the system, then there is some form of control to change.

It is because of people who wanted to pretend to be smart, act smart, that causes problems... and when one who cannot accept other people views and opinion, and only insist on their own ideas, this kind of thinking is very close to dictatorship, despot, and "Communism"

The Communism way is not correctly practised, that is why it is the way it is today...

Capitalism --> Socialism --> finally Communism... (but due to human selfishness, this cannot be realized...)

Whatever your opinion, hostile or not, it is all accepted, and thought over.

Taiwan has never been invaded by Japan. Qing Dynasty China lost the Jiawu War and ceded Taiwan to Japan as part of reparation. Japan took over administration of Taiwan without firing a shot there. Life went on peacefully in Taiwan. Japan imposed nothing much on Taiwanese lifestyle except in the abolishment of Qing pigtail hairstyle and in education, Japanese had to be taught in schools.

That generation of Taiwanese didn't hate Japan unlike mainland Chinese and Koreans. It was like HK and Singapore don't hate Britain since no force or violence was used directly against them. It was the ROC retreat to Taiwan that brought along with them the idea of hatred against Japan. ROC didn't retreat with KMT army only, they also retreated with hordes of mainland civilian supporters that actually outnumbered the local Taiwanese population then and their descendants formed the bulk of the Taiwanese population today. Just like descendants of Chinese migrants outnumbering Malay natives in Singapore today.

KMT retreated to Taiwan with 2 million refugees. ( 600K army, the rest civilians ) The local Taiwan population was 6 million then. Those peoples who moved to Taiwan after 1945 were known as "mainlander" (外省人). Those mainlander and their descendants form 15% of Taiwan population today.

Anti-Japan hatred is one issue mainland Chinese and Koreans would agree on today.

This is incorrect. Descendants of the mainlanders now made up no more than 20% of the total Taiwanese population of 23 million. The majority of the people in Taiwan today are the Min Nan (Southern Fujian) and Hakka people....

Napoleon had the idea of unifying Europe under the French Empire. He went to war and caused many distressed, displaced or dead. However, he conducted warfare gentlemanly and didn't harm any non-combatant unnecessarily toward an objective considered even noble by his enemies. His enemies (British, Dutch, Russians etc.) just didn't like the idea for national interests and wanted to stay independent of France.

You're counting mainland-born versus Taiwan-born. I'm counting Han Chinese descent versus native Taiwan descent. Of course, as time and generation go by in the PRC-ROC split and stand-off, Taiwan-born are going to outnumber mainland-born. If the stand-off continues, very soon Taiwanese shall be 100% Taiwan-born.

However, the exodus of Han Chinese population to Taiwan wan't about the ROC 1949 retreat alone. From Ming through Qing through Japan through ROC, true ethnic natives have been outnumbered by Han Chinese of mainland origins. But of course, the ROC 1949 retreat was the biggest single batch in the shortest time. I apologise for not being clear earlier.
