Seriously, if you look at the ancient map of China, it's actually much bigger than what they are now. If i remember correctly, it actually stretches to parts of Russia too.
h_o k_um h_ean told you one is it?

hmm, ok.i say sorry to you for showing you that hand sign.sorry again.
so, let's be man and talk in a nice way.
can i ask you something?economic and moral, which one is important?
answer yes or no....
As a S'porean,to me both are important. But, last week I just talked to the Chinese they told me,有了经济,什么都有!
The Chinese and us are diff stage in development,we cannot do anything even the World cannot do anything but just to hope that for such a big country and huge population, economics improvement will change all their nonsence.
To be honest,I hate to see all the corruptions and abuses nonsence in China, but we have to live with it and hope the World will make some noises here and there, and the Chinese will learn to adjust and adapt their behavious on their way to success.
but then, 有了经济,什么都有!===>>> it can turn out this way, when the communist government know they have alot of money now, they can do more evil things.lie more about their past history, becoming more corrupted.
like what you say, 有了经济,什么都有!so the 什么都有 can be refer to power, more weapon, more political chip to control other country and so on.
ever heard of ' a leopard doesn't change it's spots '?
This is a bit out of the discussion. This is something nobody can predict what the future gen Chinese leaders will do.At least what we are seeing is the whole Chinese system is changing every 10 years with a complete new set of leaders running the country!
We might also guess what will happen after LKY's PAP leaders? Will the The next Jap leaders turn militarism again etc.........
That, again is not important, I like your insead interview,It already told you what was my view. What is more important is China has no time to lose,it must grow fast! China does not know how to cross the river, they are touching stones step by step to cross now!Who cares?Important is to cross the river......................................................
Thanks for liking the video on chinese capitalism.Ok back to the question i ask you again.Yes, i do agree that china is now experimenting on everything they can try on.I myself have some china friends too and they did told me they themselves also dont like the communist government.but they also dont want any civil war again.most of them want peace so that they can earn more money to have a better living.
well, she told me they have no choice now becos what's done in the past already done and they can only look forward to a better future and they really hope the communist government will change as years goes by.
honestly speaking, i do understand their feeling.but but....
Bro,I think u r still not aware that China is still belonging to a 3rd World Country even it is 2nd Economy in the World as its GDP per capita is only USD3600 behind Malaysia and Thailand. If u r not comparing apple to apple,I think there is no point discussing further.S'pore is USD37000 already better than some European countries and where is our press freedom,Political freedom, govt transparency?U said u hv travelled to China??Can't u see it is still very poor in software (management, graciousness etc) but good in hardware (infrastructure)?
Imagine if China is like Finland who is USD50000 per capita income and above ,I dont think u will see all the scam like fake milk, abuse etc?U r a bit out of context?
Cheers!
Coming back to PRC, every country has their ills (whether developed or not). As a matter of fact, I hold Chairman Mao with great respect as a visionary, the balls to fight against the foreign backed Chiang during the civil war, the leadership ability in his guerilla struggle.
CCP linkup with Soviet Union was why they can win the Chinese civil war while ROC was abandoned by United States. CCP still deny the extent of their collaboration with Russians in that era but the declassification of Russian archives in the 90s had revealed the truth.
Today we have CCP stirring up nationalism among mainland Chinese by screaming sovereignty over small islands like Diaoyutai. The Chinese are using this incident to vent their anger at Japan over old ( WW2 ) and new feuds. Those Chinese kept on blasting Japan over the wartime atrocities while completely ignoring the fact that Chinese communists colluded with Russian GRU agents to provoke Macro Polo Bridge incident.
Claiming those little islands is just to threaten the small fries. I would like to see China claim the port of Vladisvostok. When that happens, China would have come to true superpower status. Let's see.
Why should they? And besides, the only superpower that can beat the Chinese is the US. Moscow would probably only threaten MAD.
But again back to our own country,I dont care whether the govt is changed or not,as long as it is making good for S'pore,it is ok!这就是所谓的现实!
Why should they? And besides, the only superpower that can beat the Chinese is the US. Moscow would probably only threaten MAD.
Russia versus PRC is not a sure lose proposition, it's at best a hard fight.
Nobody sane would threaten MAD.
The PRC has potentially 1 billion troops with or without guns. Technologically equal. Without nukes Russia would fold or beg Uncle Oabama for help.
But they have enough nukes to bomb the whole world the world over. So nobody would go near them.
lim boon heng told you one, izzit?
Bro, this first world, third world thing - I don't even agree that this system should be used.
Coming back to PRC, every country has their ills (whether developed or not). As a matter of fact, I hold Chairman Mao with great respect as a visionary, the balls to fight against the foreign backed Chiang during the civil war, the leadership ability in his guerilla struggle. I was superbly impressed when I visited China on a package tour in 02, but when I saw them selling Cadillacs with the flagship model under the Chairman's portrait - I sensed Mao would be stirring in his grave; something is gravely amiss in this. He struggled against this kind of thing didn't he? Deng's "To get rich is Glorious" have sent a woefully unprepared society on a barbaric quest for capitalistic possessions.
Even the long time capitalist champions - your beloved Uncle Sam, is questioning their own system of free enterprise that only two years back stumbled and crashed because of unchecked greed. And wasn't this what the Communist Party started out to quell? And it's gone back to square one again for the Chinese masses.
Friend, whether the forummers here agree or not - Singapore HAS political freedom. Citizens can vote. Citizens can form political parties. The present Singapore is what the majority of citizens have opted for. There might be those who clamour for more "freedom" but I can reasonably aver that the present state is the comfort zone for most. I do not agree with all the policies - like death sentence for some non-violent crimes, but I know I will be drowned by overwhelming voices of those who do - this is democracy.
I admire your stance for standing up and support for a strong China; but a strong China should use her strength to level the superpower playing field, and not to trample on its own poor for the benefit of the rich and well-connected. Till then, those with the freedom to speak freely should do so for those who can't. There is NO reason for Beijing to treat the Falungong like that. BTW, I think the FLG is a bunch to loonies, but still, they should not be persecuted. Taiwan has it own crappy politicians and I am sure there's corruption too, but at least, we don't hear extreme cases of jailed or tortured dissidents.
And it's time to drop happiness measurement by figures. It cannot be measured by money, GDP, productivity, longevity, modernity, nothing. People with lots of money are still chasing for more money.
Cheers!
