US gave a promise to help ROC defend Taiwan if PRC attacked. But US made it clear, helping ROC 反攻大陆 is out of the question. If ROC attempts to invade PRC without US help, you go figure the result.

Bro,I wonder have you actually visited China before?Since 1999,I have been travelling to all parts of China and for the last 2 years I travelled there almost every once or twice a month.It is such a huge country and population and the development is unbelievable.

One of the reason why ROC lost the civil war was becos there were too much abuses and corruption then!So,it is a natural process when a country is growing.

Why do I get the feeling that PRC supporters only look at economic progress and somehow look away from atrocities against fellow humans brushing them aside as though the victims are not somebody's brother, sister, mother, father?

Despite the economic "progress", the majority of PRC workers, especially those from the rurals have very little access to legal representation in labour disputes. For a space-faring nation, there is almost no healthcare benefits for sufferers of silicosis, a common industrial worksite ailment. That is progress?

You should rethink your statement and ask whether who is mired in crisis? The egalitarian society followers of Chairman Mao sacrificed so much for has resulted in even a greater wealth disparity than when they started off. It still remains that PRC is nothing more than a cheap factory with owners in collaboration with Western and Japanese corporations and a govenrment that is easily provoked, aggressive, and sensitive.

I have many PRC friends and they tell me the ills of the nation. For those reasons, they seek citizenship and a future for their children elsewhere. I am not against PRC's (nor anybody's) progress; but shielding the big truth and selecting glamorous highlights to tell the world just doesn't cut it for me.

Now, there are 2 China.ROC and PRC.At the moment, Communist PRC control most of the land and ROC control only Taiwan island.Simple?And, remember this... ROC have not been defeated yet!!! Anytime they can fight back to Mainland and recoup China.
