That's what we are told to do in the Bible, to perserve even facing trial and temptation (James 1:12).

Yes....I have read this even before! The following statement is an extract of that article:

It is known in the scientific world that mutation can bring no benefits. The statement above: Occasional is really an understatement.... This should be replaced with the word: Frequent! and the word, rarely should be replaced with Never! Prove me wrong...should the readers some examples....please...

Up to now, we don't see any mutation of virus brings benefits and we can conclude too that mutation of other organism can't bring benefits let alone can change 'apples into oranges!' Even it could change from 'apples to oranges' you think there a net benefits?

Today’s Scripture Reading [January 29, 2012]

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. [Psalm 19:1-3. KJV]

One of the lesser known motivational quotes which we don’t hear too often can be found in a 1865 novel, Alice in the Wonderland, written by an English author Lewis Carroll: “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.” Though we don’t hear this too often, this motivational quote has important life lessons for us. We are here on earth with a purpose without which, really, life has no meaning. We must all admit, “We are born alone, live alone and die alone - George Orson Welles (May 6, 1915 – October 10, 1985) an American film director, actor, screenwriter, and producer)". This is absolutely true, indeed, if we live our life purposeless. We need to have a life purpose and this is just as important as in corporations. The motivational quote from Alice in the Wonderland has also quoted by some management guru of strategy because a good business strategy demands clear business objectives and purpose. So, why are you here for?

This simple question has prompted many people to search for answers, and ironically, those answers generated by people are much more complex, complicated and sophisticate than the question! It shouldn’t be. The reason is simple why all these complex, complicated and sophisticate answers when the question itself is so simple this: Because people search at the wrong place yet trying to find the right answers. Its pure simple logic, if you search at the wrong place, how could you find the right answer?

Getting to the right place is one thing and is a very important one but asking the right question is just as important. One of the important aspects of critical thinking is the ability to ask the right questions. Again this is pure simple logic, if you asked the wrong questions, even you have all the ‘right’ answers, they are all not going to be useful. It is only after we have learned to ask the right questions can we then get the right answers to our questions, to our problems and to our situations. The history of invention is replete with incredible achievements because someone asked the right question – from the invention of wireless radio to the invention of ‘human bird’, the airplane – most of these ‘impossibles’ were invented because somebody asked the right question. And some of these questions did really sound “stupid!”

While head-knowledge can give us the much needed information to generate answers to question, asking the right question demands wisdom, and not just pure head-knowledge. We read in the Book of Daniel: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased (Daniel 12:4). As to the increase in knowledge, this is what the Time Magazine has to say: “The 20th Century a characteristically unique time in history - the headlong, accelerating growth of scientific knowledge. The curve of knowledge is exponential, growing steeper like the curve of squares (1--4--9--16--36--49...). It has changed men's lives more in the past 20 years than in the previous 50; more in that 50 years than in the previous 2000. Man cannot, dare not stop its growth, though he does not know where it is taking him.” And this observation by the Time Magazine was made in 1950. Today, 2012, more than 60 years later, we see now the formula of the ‘curve of squares” is quite outdated! Indeed, we have run of vocabulary as to how we could really explain or describe the rate of knowledge explosion. No one can deny that knowledge does bring benefits to mankind but everyone should also have to admit that it has brought, in many instances, more harm than good.

More of us when we are ask about ‘What do you want, if you are just given only one chance to acquire” the answers will invariably be “riches, a long life, a happy family or all the science knowledge of the earth”. But these were not what King Solomon wanted when God asked him “What do you want from Me?” He didn’t want long life, riches nor the lives of his enemies. Instead, all that he wanted was wisdom – wisdom to discern what is right, what is good and what is evil and an understanding mind to rule his kingdom (1 Kings 3: 5-10), and God granted him. Wisdom can never come from knowledge. Wisdom can only come from God. This is one of the most important spiritual lessons that we must learn.

We noted that there is another simple, yet very profound question ask by Jesus when He was hung on the cross and was about to take His last breath, and we can find this question is Matthew 27:46 “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Unlike the one we read in 1 Kings 3:5-10 which God did answer, we discovered here in the Book of Matthew, God was completely silent. Not once, Jesus cried out this question again (Matthew 27:50) and still there was no answer from God. And God was silent? Why God has forsaken Jesus, His very own Son? And why wasn’t any answer from God when His only begotten Son ask of this question. No! God was not silent. The answer was already given even before the question was even asked and we can find them in Psalm 22:3. As pointed out by a Christian writer, Tony Warren: When Christ called out to God in this manner, clearly He was consciously quoting this Psalm as an illustration to all that would come after, that He was fulfilling this Old Testament prophecy. This is the key to understanding why the Lord would say this. Jesus Christ, as the living "Word of God" in the flesh, is the application of God's revealed will concerning the atonement for sin by the wrath of God poured out upon man. And His question in Psalms 22:1 of, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me," is answered in Psalms 22:3, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." That is why God had forsaken Him. Because to a holy God, that sin is abhorrent to, this is a great offense. And as Christ hung on the cross, He was laden with our sins. So in Christ quoting this Psalm, He was revealing that it prophesied of Him and how He would atone for the sins of man against a holy God. These words make manifest the agony and suffering that Christ was under as He is intimately and personally identified with the judgment of God upon man for sin.”

To this, I may just add what already stated above. God forsook Jesus at that hour because He was bearing all our sins – the past, the present, and the future – and God, the Father could not bear to see all these horrible sins that His only begotten was bearing. God had to turn His eyes away!

Just as important as they are, looking at the right place to get the right perspective of life is no difference from asking the right question to get the right answer. Man has always tried to prove the existence of God, and certainly no can say this is wrong. Proving the existence of God is quite synonymous as seeking God. Among others, the key difference is in the approaches. Those who attempt to seek God go to the word of God, but those who try to prove the existence (or the non-existence of God) go to the science laboratories and trying to find God by looking at the microscopes! They have gone to the wrong place and ask the wrong questions! They have reduced God to the size of virus and bacteria that can only be seen by the ultra-powerful electronic microscopes of the 20th and the 21st centuries.

Thankfully, our God-given wisdom has pointed to us that seeking God and trying to find Him cannot be found in the laboratories neither can they be found in the fossils of animals and plants. How can then can we find God? This is one of the perfect right question, and the perfect answers to this perfect perfect question can be found in the Bible, the word of God:

Most of the early scientists, like Newton, Pascal, Louis Pasteur, Michael Faraday, were religious in one way or another. They saw their science as a means of uncovering traces of God’s handiwork in the universe or in the things He created. We must look upward if we want to see God and His glory!

• This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:1-7).

Turn to your newspaper everyday or tune into your radio, TV or internet and what you can read there exactly reflect what the Bible already told us in 2 Timothy 3:1-7. There is never a better time or a better communication media to reveal that the newspaper, radio, TV or internet is the best media to uncover the sins of the world. We must look outward and humble ourselves if we want God to speak to us!

• Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24).

These verses are perhaps some of the most poignant words in the entire Bible. King David, even though he was called by God as “a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22)" and yet, King David felt a strong need to ask God to search him. Why? The answer is simple: We cannot know our own hearts well enough. Only God can because He indwells us, knows our every thought, is aware of every feeling. He understands us more than we understand ourselves. The presence of God, His Spirit and His existence is closest to us than we can ever expect – its right inside us. Remember, our body is the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19). Men have always been seeking to understand the mysteries of the universe, but most of us have never looked beyond our own pride or superstition. Indeed, the “wisdom of the world is foolishness with God (1 Corinthians 3:19)." When men become humble before their God, when they see their own littleness - “a mere collection of atoms and molecules” - only then will we begin to realize that our benevolent Creator has prepared the Heavens and the Earth for us, and that He has also planned for mankind’s ultimate blessing throughout eternity. In God’s due time, the mysteries of His vast universe will be open for us to explore and understand. If we want to seek God, we need to look within our inward self!

I take this as your good intention. There are so much deceptions and lies that people are using to distort the word of God, the Bible - sorry....from Christian's view....and as believers, it is our duty to expose the deceptions. What I am doing is nothing more than exposing the devil's deceptions because the works of deception can only come from the devil. Non-believers will see these kind of messages as 'useless, wasting of time...etc..." but we see them as our duty to serve God: Be not deceived, God is not mocked (Galatians 6:7) and evil communications corrupt good manners (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Are you really a scientist (????) or just an old woman who likes to nag! According to some dictionaries, the word 'nag' is defined as: someone (especially a woman) who annoys people by constantly finding fault.

Why as scientist (????) you are so free....I know of many researchers and famous doctors, and they are so busy with their work. Incidentally one of my close relatives is a well-known cancer specialists and each time I visited his home, he could hardly spent more than 30 minutes with me....He has to go and do alot of work....His mother told me that his son is so busy that he couldn't even find time to speak to him herself even though they are staying together. In fact, I like to speak to him because he too a Christian and always like to describe the human anatomy to me...he just found that it's simply impossible that our human body can be created without a Divine Intelligent Being.....

Wonder, why are you so free.....are you working for one of the government agencies....if you are, let me remind you that I am your ultimate employer because these agencies are funded out of my tax dollars. Incidentally one of my close relatives is a well-known cancer specialists and each time i visited his home, he could hardly spent more than 30 minutes with me....he has to go and do alot of work....his mother told me that his son is so busy that he couldn't even find time to speak to him herself even though they are staying together. I can tell you and provide you all the research and history from reknownede scholars that shows you that the Bible has been changed over time and that in it contains words of man intermingled with some of God's revelation but would that change your belief?I dont think so....so from here on i wish you all the best in your religion whichever one you choose or none .
