I helped out at Mr Chen Show Mao's Meet-the-People Session yesterday night, in the Paya Lebar ward of Aljunied GRC. We were overwhelmed by the warm support of residents from Aljunied and all over Singapore who showed up (including a few from East Coast GRC)...not to mention many, many volunteers, both old and new. Many expressed surprise at the GE2015 results. All encouraged us to strive on and to do even better for the people. I also had useful, practical discussions with many of our volunteers on our plans going forward. A night to remember...and a precious reminder that we should keep our gaze fixed on the future.

I am going back to Kaki Bukit division to link up with MP Faisal again and serve the residents in Aljunied GRC. Looking forward to renewing old friendships and forging new bonds with the residents and stallholders in the community. MacPherson, I have not forgotten you.

Thank you, Chong Angeline MD Esan Kevin Lee Pamela Pang-Koh Megat Ibrahim Mahfuz. Amazing how much ground we covered in the short period of time granted to us.

Chen Jiaxi Bernard 陈家喜 added 2 new photos. They took this journey with me. They did everything possible so I can set my mind and attention on the campaign. The faces of the core volunteers behind my campaign. No amount of thank you will do, I am just glad that they are on my team! Not forgetting the rest of the volunteers, polling agents and counting agents that I had the privilege to meet and worked alongside with. A new week, and a renewed determination to serve Singaporeans. We will do better!

"Of 89 seats, you won 6," my eleven-year-old host asked last evening, "Do you think that's good enough?" There's room for improvement, I told Nicholas. He also wished to know my views on MRT train breakdowns, the proposed 10-year through-train programme, stress, school food, obesity, and his allowance.

Monday means MPS time. Back to familiar ground with friends and teammates at Paya Lebar where I first started helping out with the WP in May 2011 felt a little surreal.

The haze reached readings of 200+ tonight and thanks to some of the well-wishers and volunteers who braved the horrible levels of haze to come by.

He Ting Ru 何廷儒 with Yee Jenn Jong, JJ (余振忠) and 3 othersHi guys
We've just finished our thank you rounds of Marine Parade GRC from this morning. Deeply, deeply touched by the many who slowed down, looked up, tooted their horns and gave us the thumbs up as we drove past. It really means a lot to us.

To those of you who gave us encouragement, your support, and like us, hoped for something more: we are so very sorry that we did not manage to do better, but we did all that we could.

Last night, we entered the counting centres one by one, and it became clear what had happened quite early in the evening. As we made our way towards Hougang Stadium, the memories of the last few weeks rode along with us in our cars, as a strange calm came over us. It was the voices of the people who had spoken, and we respect that.

The one thing that really broke my heart though, was to see the numerous volunteers and supporters who were in floods of tears at the end of the evening. You walked alongside with us, together thick and thin, shedding weight (!) and eventually tears, and stayed right to the end, only leaving at 4 in the morning. I am truly sorry that we did not make it, but you guys are so strong and so amazing.

I will also forever remember the group hug we the candidates had at one of the counting centres in Marine Parade last night. I really could not have asked for better teammates, in the Marine Parade team, and I truly believe you guys truly were fighting to serve and to build a better future for Singapore. It was also epic to have all 5 of us laughing and smiling at the back of the lorry despite the haze.

As for the WP, I am still convinced that we are a party that is led by people with integrity and principles, and we are a party that loves Singapore deeply and wants to continue working towards a country we can be proud of. It was an absolute honour to have been part of Team WP in GE2015, and I just wanted to say: Thank You.

The haze is bad again today, and many of you were up late last night, please rest up, drink plenty of water, and give someone you love a big hug today.

I suspect CSM being a corporate lawyer for much of his entire life, is not equipped at all with the cut and thrust swording typical of legal eagles in the courtroom. Singaporeans might have been expecting something of a Francis Seow, but was given a Confucius lecturer instead.

Still, the biggest disappointment was LTK's silence when asked if WKS should resign because of the Mas Selamat embarrassment. He could have just said: "If I was the minister in charge, I would resign to take responsibility." It's really too "non-confrontational" politics. Your opponent practically gave you a loaded pistol to fire at him, but you just didn't have the balls to squeeze the trigger because you wanted to stay true to being non-confrontational. You squeezed your own balls instead, and Singaporeans were left squeezing theirs as collateral damage. Not only did your opponent ridicule you for being a mouse, he upped his ante and went on to fix you with AHPETC.

It should be "last night" instead of yesterday night (which is "Singlish")

Here's what I had said of my fellow candidates in East Coast and Fengshan during the rally on the final night. Dennis, Leon and Daniel are articulate in policy matters. I have worked with all of them during the past 3-4 years in parliament-related work. I look forward to them contributing in parliament as NCMPs. I would have much preferred that they were elected in as MPs as I know they can serve constituents well.

"Today, I am happy that we have very good candidates for East Coast GRC and Fengshan SMC. I have worked with fellow NCMP Gerald Giam on many parliament and party work. He is hardworking and passionate. Daniel Goh has been a key pillar for our policy research. I often worked with Leon Pereira in policy research on economics. Fairoz is a committed and very principled person. Dennis Tan first joined me doing house visits in 2011. He has since been involved diligently in many aspects of the Party’s work. I am very happy that he is our candidate for Fengshan SMC..." - my rally speech on 9/9/15 at Bedok Stadium.
