The Workers' Party last night revealed some of the ongoings at the grassroots level in its constituencies, and calls for the structure of the GROs under the People's Association to be overhauled.

Mr Pritam Singh revealed, for example, that from 2011 to 2015, the WP town council received not a single cent of funding from the Community Improvement Projects Committee (CIPC).

My rally speech 2 nights ago, on Teachers' Day.

"Today is Teachers’ Day. A happy Teachers’ Day to all educators out there!

Being Teachers’ Day, I want to share a quote:

'The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate ‘apparently ordinary’ people to unusual effort. The tough problem is not in identifying winners: it is in making winners out of ordinary people.' -K. Patricia Cross, Education Scholar
This quote stands out for me because this is what I believe is important in education – making winners out of ordinary people, making winners out of Singaporeans. For too long, our system sorted students through various major exams, trying to pick winners. We had ranked and branded schools and made parents so anxious. They are afraid that their children will lose out if they miss on a desired choice by just one point on the PSLE T-Score.

In my 4 years in parliament, I have raised many issues, the most is in education. I have asked for ..."

Residents from one of the Resident Corners said to Mr Png as we past by:"这里不用走,不要浪费你的脚力,去别的地方走。", which translates to "Save your energy for other areas, you have our support here." Mr Png and the volunteers are grateful for the support over the decades.

Wonderful morning at Neptune Court. We were allowed visits last GE and again this GE. Previously as a SMC candidate, it was really so challenging to do 9 blocks in one morning. Now as a GRC, it is great to have team mates and their volunteers to complete the visits in half the time we took last GE.

Met this elderly gentleman who has been attending our rallies every night. He brought out the momentous he had bought.

Finished off the session with a good spread of home cook food by a resident whom we had gotten to know from last GE and had became a volunteer. Thanks for the great food and refreshing drinks!
