As we celebrate this milestone, the achievements of our students would not be possible without the support of their families, friends, and staff. Well done, everyone!

Lawrence provides some support.

I’ve announced a fresh $1.5 billion support package today to provide additional help for households, to cope with the impact of inflation and higher prices. This is on top of the support provided for Singaporeans earlier this year.
Inflation affects all of us, especially those in need. This is why the support package is designed with our lower- and middle-income families in mind, as well as our retirees who have no income from work. The latest package includes:
✅
Cost of Living Special Payment, worth up to $500, to 2.5 million eligible adult Singaporeans
✅
Additional $100 CDC Vouchers to every Singaporean household
✅
600,000 Public Transport Vouchers, worth $30 each, for eligible resident households
✅
Revised income eligibility criteria for MOE Financial Assistance Schemes, to defray school expenses for more students
I understand that it has been a bumpy journey for everyone. As with all previous challenges, big or small, we will do our part to support Singaporeans through challenging times. When we are united, and support each other, we are stronger together.

The XBB Covid-19 variant is now the predominant subvariant in our community. And there is evidence that XBB may be driving an increase in reinfections here.
A reminder to all to exercise personal responsibility and monitor your health if you are feeling unwell.
You can also keep yourself protected from severe infection by ensuring your vaccination is up to date - just like our seniors from our visit to a mobile vaccination centre in June this year. The bivalent Moderna/Spikevax vaccine is available for those who are eligible, such as those aged 50 years and above who received their last vaccine dose more than five months ago. I encourage all to take your vaccination when it is due or offered. Take care and stay safe!

All our community partners and organisations play a key role in the future of Singapore - to build a more inclusive society with opportunities for everyone, regardless of background, race or religion.
The AMP Singapore is well positioned to play an important part in this effort too, including by mentoring our next generation, and providing a platform for us to discuss the aspirations and concerns of the Malay professional community.
Glad that the AMP is hearing ideas, seeking feedback, and discussing priorities for the future. That is exactly what we hope to achieve for Singapore with our #ForwardSG exercise too. Let's all work towards building a better home together.

Glad to engage with residents and community partners of North East Community Development Council earlier today, as part of the PA Community Kopi Talk.
We have to brace ourselves for more uncertainties and challenges ahead of us. It is all the more important to make sure we have the resources to deal with any disruptions or downside risks.
At the same time, we will continue to help Singaporeans tide through the stormy weather - we have provided considerable support this year to cushion the impact of higher prices on the lower- and middle-income as well as retirees, and will continue to do so in the year ahead.

Was glad to speak and bounce off ideas with a full-house crowd at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Festival of Ideas 2022 last Friday.
Asia is very much at a crossroads and how the region progresses in the coming years and decades will depend on the choices we make.
We cannot prescribe what other countries do in Asia. But Singapore will do our part to engage all stakeholders, and to develop an open and inclusive framework for regional cooperation that maximises our chances for longer-term stability, peace and prosperity in the region.

In my role, I am honoured to meet Singaporeans from all walks of life. In the work you do, you contribute in different ways - not only to build a brighter future for your loved ones, but also for Singapore.
To ensure that our country thrives, we will help you to build deeper skills, to pursue opportunities and live your best life.
This will require a further strengthening of our SkillsFuture system, to invest more significantly in our people and human capital. And we must also do more to recognise the value of “hands-on” or “heart” work, like service and community care roles.
We have some preliminary ideas on how we can enhance our system of lifelong learning and support for workers. But we are also keen to get your feedback and suggestions. So I welcome everyone to participate in the Forward Singapore exercise, as we work together to build a more vibrant and inclusive economy for all.
You can read my speech at https://go.gov.sg/singapore-economic-policy-forum-speech.
Thanks for having me, Economic Society of Singapore!

Pleased to welcome Indonesian Vice-President KH. Ma'ruf Amin to Singapore yesterday, his first visit since taking office in 2019. We had a good discussion on developments in Singapore and Indonesia, and reaffirmed the longstanding and close cooperation that our countries enjoy across all sectors, and discussed emerging areas of cooperation such as the green and digital economy.

Happy to meet US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas during his official visit to Singapore to attend the Singapore International Cyber Week.
We affirmed the long-standing partnership between Singapore and the US. We also had good discussions on topics of mutual interest including cyber security and extremism.
We welcome the US’s continued engagement of the region, and look forward to strengthening our bilateral cooperation across different areas. This is especially important now in light of the significant global challenges and changes around us.
I wish Secretary Mayorkas a fruitful stay in Singapore!

Happy Deepavali in advance to all!
We are less than a week away from the festival of lights. In a time of global uncertainties, the symbolism of light in the darkness is all the more significant and meaningful.
I hope everyone will have a good bonding time with your families during this period. If you are out and about, do check out the fun activities at Indian Heritage Centre in Little India, to learn more about the festival.

Many thanks to our public officers, for your dedication and commitment to serve!
At the Public Service Conference yesterday, I highlighted how the road ahead will continue to be bumpy. But we can draw strength from knowing that we are tackling the challenges, not as individuals, but together as a team.
All of us are in public service out of a sense of shared calling and higher purpose - to build a brighter, better future for Singapore and Singaporeans.
I look forward to continuing to work with all of you on this journey.

We have been organising #ForwardSG engagements to hear from all of you on how we can co-create and shape our future together.
Thursday’s REACHSingapore x #ForwardSG discussion was a great example of Forward SG in action. We saw many of you sharing your dreams and hopes – from multiple pathways of progress, to inclusive workplaces and valuing diversity.
Collectively, we can set a roadmap for a brighter future!
