Congratulations to Sergio Perez and Oracle Red Bull Racing at the Singapore Grand Prix 2022 at the Marina Bay street circuit.
It has been an action-packed weekend with the race tracks, the cheers and the excitement back again after two plus years (and despite the heavy downpour).
The #SingaporeGP is one of the most physically challenging races for drivers. I heard some drivers have even gone through sauna programmes leading up to the race, to get used to our humid weather!
Looking forward to more memorable F1 races here — I thank all Singaporeans and partners for your continued support of the race, including our foreign dignitaries and overseas friends who have travelled here.

An eventful race filled with thrills and spills! Fans were not disheartened by the delay due to the heavy downpour. Happy to see the crowd back at our Marina Bay Street circuit.

Last week, I was pleased to have discussions with Franklin Templeton President and CEO Jenny Johnson, Prudentialplc Chair Shriti Vadera, CDPQ President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Emond, and Peterson Institute for International Economics President Adam Posen.
We had good conversations on global macroeconomic developments as well as how to navigate the uncertain economic outlook ahead.
Despite these economic challenges, as a trusted and reliable hub in Asia, many companies still want to be in Singapore, to invest in Singapore and the region. There is much we can do together with private capital to boost innovation and green financing.

Happy Children’s Day in advance!
Amidst a busy school calendar, remember to take some time off and have fun outdoors. When I was young, I enjoyed playing with friends in our HDB estate, and I'm glad to see this continue for many children across all our playgrounds.
Congrats also to all our P6 students on completing your PSLE. What is most important is that you've done your best.
To all our parents, do continue to encourage your kids to explore their interests, be it in the arts, music, sports, or more!

The world will continue to face more uncertainties and greater turbulence — but we should not simply resign ourselves to external challenges and trends. We should do our best to steer the trajectory of developments in the region towards peace and stability.
At the Future China Global Forum, I shared that Singapore will continue to work with our fellow ASEAN member states and all partners to strengthen regional economic integration, and keep the region open and inclusive. We welcome our partners, including China, to continue their constructive engagement of our region.
Bilaterally, Singapore's relations with China have also deepened over the years. A key part of our efforts to promote closer ties is fostering more people-to-people links between our countries, based on mutual understanding and trust. And organisations like 通商中国 Business China can play an important role in this. Congrats to Business China on your 15th anniversary, and I encourage you to continue helping to forge partnerships, and nurture our next generation!
