Isn't money to be paid to lawyer? Sorry I didn't buy SEC but thought money is handled by lawyer.

did you buy subsale? if so, yes , money handled to conveyancing lawyer. in setia case, *should be* the lawyer is appointed by setia, so they can be on hand to meet purchaser at setia indah office. i met "my" lawyers there a few occasions. they actually take turn to put in weekend shifts too. met lawyer once on sunday.
hope this helps

yes, i took bank loan but only 80%. i still must cover the remaining amount after the discount.

Ho! understood, received letter from SEC to pay up the balance deposit too, i.e. 100%-bank loan. I called up SEC, as I have received the letter last week but it was dated last month, SEC says no hurry,, can pay within 1 month. Bank will only pay SEC the progressive payment after all the deposit are paid up by buyer.

Yes I bought subsale. Ah, so the lawyers would be on site at new launches! Still the same advice, go straight to lawyer meeting place and don't wayang to somewhere else top up petrol or makan, just go and pay first. Offload payload then upload petrol or food.

Is it common for freehold land owners to eat roti ?
I visited 2 relatives few weeks back in Setia Tropika. Saw both of the families eat roti. They even both roti making machine to make roti themselves!

I think is not just people staying in freehold eating roti. Quite common in Malaysia, if you tavel back from work in Singapore to JB and pasessby City Square, from 6pm to 7pm, Lavender and Season' s breads sold out fast. Like wise in bukit indah, you could see the roti is the fast moving items too. Their local brand white bread is selling fast before Gardenia.

was at eco garden gallery to kaypo around yesterday morning. sale staff told me 'DIBS today is last day due to MAPEX'. I take it to mean any units booked during mapex may be granted DIBS by some banks.. again check with ocbc. somehow they seem less stringent. you can forget about public.

That's what I did, stacks of cash. LOL! Mitigating factor is I drive laupok car and look poor, hardly worth anyone's time.

Anyway I made a beeline to lawyer's office at City Square to offload the cash. No stopping for shopping until cash is handed over. Glad those episodes are over.

Which local bank you open ac with? Is it hassle free?

The banker will open the account for you, for me it was hassle free. Banker just tell me current account number and I make my first deposit in ATM to pay for valuation fee.
