I enjoy this soup from 2 stalls in S'pore - the Geylang beef noodle stall at Lor 9 (I think) and the famous belachan fish at Geylang or Rangoon Rd. Tried some others. CMI.

You can buy Campbell's Chinese series fish maw soup. It's the starchy version, not the brothy version.

Walk to supermarket and get a packet of frozen ready to eat Fish Maw chicken soup. Defrost in microwave and then use claypot to cook for 5 minutes.

No fish, prawn also can.;)

Original Packing and ready to serve on claypot.

Ah Forve, good things don't come in cans!

I know, surely can't be as good as freshly cooked. However, me and my wife both don't know how to cook Chinese soup. We like Chinese soup dishes in hawker centers. We always order every noodle dish in soup version, never dry version. The dry versions look so oily and spicy. Chinese are best with soup dishes. Western soups are more limited, that I'd admit. Campbell making its Chinese series in Singapore is good for home quick meal convenience.

There's another one that I'd always have a bowl of if I pass by a pasar malam soup stall. It's called shark cartilage soup but in effect, fake sharkfin.

Yes like both type of soup. Also like it with lots of white pepper.

Think it is more expensive to cook than eating outside. :)

Yes I forgot to mention white pepper crushed and then fry dry over wok until smell comes our then pour into filter bag and thrown in the pot. Very song-song to drink this.

Fish maw soup prepared 2 ways - thick soup and normal soup. Ordered in the past and came out normal soup.

Mine is the normal milky soup. Thick brown soup is too starchy, take this once a while with lots of black vinegar.
