Chitchat Oppies Anyhow Defame Good PAP Candidate Ivan!

aiyah, in a real democracy, the entire Civil Service is independent lah. Only in singapore, many things are perverted beyond recognition. Its gotten a lot worse.

I still remember in the 70s, there was at least some semblance of independence. Now, they don't even bother to pretend. I recall, for example, Chief Returning Officers were appointed who were not affiliated with any political parties. Now all of them are balls licking PAPs.

Mata, armed forces and judiciary also supposed to be independent also subjected to the serial numbered voting slips.

No one actually explained why is there a need for the serialised voting slips we have in SG.

honestly nothing against poly chaps
know many of them who come from humble or disadvantaged backgrounds
some are even better friends than those uni friends
but there are some like this ivan sort of chaps who simply think that their disadvantaged backgrounds are a source of pride after they make some achievements in life.
they become extremely proud that they have beaten adversities and look down on fellow peers and others, thinking that they are sibei tenacious and mock at others who have different perspectives from them.
Also known as "chip on his shoulder"... probably in this Ivan's case a very big "chip"

Of course Tin Pei Ling is not as disgusting lah. I can still put a plastic bag over her head and fuck her cheebye and shoot some loads in there. WHo wants to do that to Ivan?

I am on top of her and with you on this. A lanjiao like him needs a bigger lanjiao to fuck him in every sense of the word.

SINGAPORE: The People's Action Party's (PAP) prospective new candidate Ivan Lim said on Saturday (Jun 27) that he was "determined to stay the course" and to serve if elected, in response to online comments made about him.

"When I agreed to enter politics I expected that it would be tough," said Mr Lim in a press release issued by PAP.

"This test has come sooner than I expected. I wish to say that I am determined to stay the course and to serve if I am elected," he added.

Mr Lim, a 42-year-old general manager with Keppel Offshore and Marine, has been in the spotlight after comments were made on social media criticising his behaviour as an officer during National Service.

They accused him of lacking compassion, and being arrogant and elitist.

"I accept that I can always do better and I am willing to learn. I will take this experience to heart and do my best to prove myself to voters and all Singaporeans," the statement read.

Mr Lim said that it was important for him to "state his position" regarding recent Facebook posts about him as his family was affected, in particular, his mother.

Referring to stories about incidents during National Service, Mr Lim said that "people can have different perspectives of the same incident".

"For example, it has been suggested in one of the posts that I was harsh for requiring the men to book-in at 10pm when the norm was 11.59pm," he said.

Mr Lim said that on that occasion, the men had a 5am move-out time the next morning.

"It was important to ensure, and the rules required, that the men get enough rest," he said.

"As such, I asked them to come back at 10pm and not 11.59pm. As the story notes, I came back earlier myself as well.

"I set high standards for the unit as a CO. I believe in working together and I did not ask the men to do something I was not prepared to do myself," he added.

Addressing a post by a former colleague, Mr Lim pointed out that "the shipyard industry is a tough and exacting one".

"We have always required high standards of Keppel colleagues to ensure that they can return home safely to their families," Mr Lim said, adding that there were many colleagues who were promoted and did well during his tenure as AGM and GM of Keppel.

Mr Lim also said that an allegation he was involved in a bribery case in Brazil was "completely baseless and untrue".

Referring to a post about him not smiling at his neighbour, Mr Lim said he did "not recall a specific incident".

"However, like many others who live in apartments, I know some neighbours better than others and interact with some more than others," he said.

Earlier on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said Mr Lim should come out to clarify comments made about his conduct during his time in National Service.

“I have emphasised that character and integrity are important in our candidates, and if there are any complaints, it should be properly verified,” said Mr Heng during a walkabout at Teban Marketplace in West Coast GRC.

“I would like to see Ivan himself coming out to clarify these comments so that we can hear both sides of the story," Mr Heng added.

I don't find TPL disgusting at all... In fact I believe she has become abit meaty over the years and should be nice to piak piak... But as for that CB Kia faced Ivan Lim, he's more disgusting than a dog's turd...

Agree. She has more meat now. Very hardworking too.

Singapore GE2020: PAP new face Ivan Lim should clarify online criticisms, says Heng Swee Keat

SINGAPORE - The People's Action Party's first assistant secretary-general Heng Swee Keat says the party's new face Ivan Lim should clarify the online criticisms he has received since being introduced on Wednesday.

Mr Heng, who is Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, told reporters on Saturday (June 27): "I have emphasised that integrity and character are very important in our candidates. And if there are any complaints, it should be properly clarified.

"So I would like to see Ivan himself coming out to clarify this comment, so that we can hear both sides of the story."

Mr Heng was on a visit to Teban Gardens Market and Food Centre in West Coast GRC, along with Communications and Information Minister S. Iswaran and Ms Foo Mee Har, both incumbent members of the PAP team in the constituency.

Mr Lim, 42, who is a general manager at Keppel Offshore & Marine, has recently been accused of elitist or arrogant behaviour by a number of people who claim to have known him at work or during national service.

However, others who know him have also come out in support of him online, and a video of several of his colleagues speaking up for him has been making the rounds on Saturday.

Mr Heng added that it was important to address the issue clearly, as all party candidates are expected to be able to address any concerns that may be raised about them.

"There are some of those who have put it on the Internet, they have also identified themselves - these are not anonymous points. And I would like to reach out to them to understand better what exactly had happened, so that we have a better understanding of the entire situation."

He added: "The key, as I mentioned, is whether the individual has the heart to serve all Singaporeans. And this is most important for us."

PAP vice-chairman Masagos Zulkifli, who weighed in on the issue on Friday, said that it was important for candidates who face allegations to prove themselves.

But he added that they should not be defined by a single moment in time or in their career, but judged instead by their growth throughout their lives.
