WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S. Navy submarine leaked trace amounts of radioactive water for two years as it made port calls in Japan and other Asian nations, the Navy said Thursday.

The USS Houston arrives in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, for routine maintenance, during which the leak was found.

Last week, Navy officials told Japan that the USS Houston, a Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine, had made one port call -- in March -- while leaking the contaminated fluid.
But after reviewing records of the sub, the Navy told Japanese officials Thursday that the Houston had been leaking much longer, since June 2006, and had made port calls to Japanese bases at Sasebo, Yokosuka and Okinawa before the leak was discovered.
Officials also have told the governments of Malaysia and Singapore that the sub made port calls to those countries while leaking the radioactive water, Navy officials said. The Houston also made stops in Guam and Hawaii.

A Japanese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tokyo appreciated the United States reporting the new information promptly.
"At the same time, what remains to be nailed down is the cause," said the spokesman, Hiroshi Suzuki. "We still need to get to the bottom of the cause of this leak. We would like to get a full explanation."
Suzuki said the U.S. government has assured Japan it is taking all precautionary measures to guarantee safety. In addition, Japan also conducts round-the-clock monitoring of U.S. vessels in Japanese ports.
The U.S. Navy said Thursday that the leak was minor in both volume and radioactivity, and that the radioactivity from the leaks in all foreign ports added up to less than that found in a smoke detector.

The problem was discovered last month when a buildup of leaking water popped a covered valve and poured onto a sailor's leg while the submarine was in dry dock.
A subsequent investigation found a valve was slowly dripping water from within the nuclear power plant onboard, but it was not water that came in direct contact with the nuclear reactor, Navy officials said.
The water reportedly was so low in radiation it was barely detectable.
Officials with knowledge of the incident could not quantify the radiation level but insisted it was "negligible" and an "extremely low level." The total amount of radioactivity that leaked while the sub was in port in Guam, Japan and Hawaii was less than a half of a microcurie (0.0000005 curies), or less than what is found in a 50-pound bag of lawn and garden fertilizer, the officials said.
The sailor who was doused, a crew member of the Houston, tested negative for radiation from the water, according to Navy officials.
While Japan and the United States have come to agreements to allow nuclear-powered ships to make port calls in that country, the decision was a not a popular one in Japan.
The Houston incident comes at a time when the Navy is trying to smooth over another problem with a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.
The USS George Washington was due to replace the aging, conventionally powered USS Kitty Hawk this summer as the sole U.S. carrier based in Japan.
While en route to Japan this May, a fire broke out on the George Washington, causing $70 million in damage. The fire was blamed on crew members smoking around improperly stored flammable materials.
There was no damage or threat to the nuclear reactor, but the ship was diverted to San Diego, California, for repairs. It is expected to arrive in Japan at the end of September.

The Navy fired the George Washington's captain and his deputy last week, saying an investigation into the fire led to a lack of confidence in the leadership of both men.
Three weeks ago, thousands of Japanese protested the pending arrival of the George Washington.

，珠海欧比特宇航科技股份有限公司在国家“军民融合”战略以及国家商业航天发展政策指引下，制定了打造基于卫星星座的“卫星空间信息平台”战略，启动投资建设“珠海一号”遥感卫星星座项目，包括制造发射34颗遥感卫星，建设地面接收站、卫星大数据中心、卫星大数据产业孵化园区等。

欧比特公司打造的基于“珠海一号”遥感微纳卫星星座的“卫星空间信息平台”，由珠海、漠河、石河子、贵阳、上海、青岛等卫星地面站组成的卫星测控/接收网络；由珠海、贵阳、上海、青岛、澳门等数据中心组成的卫星大数据存储/处理/分发网络。“卫星空间信息平台”建成后，将具备每2天左右完成对全球观测一遍的能力，卫星大数据接收/存储/处理/分发能力将达到每年7000TB，将为国土资源、农林牧渔、环境保护、交通运输、智慧城市、现代金融、个人消费等领域提供高效的卫星大数据产品及服务，对中国卫星大数据的应用及发展带来巨大的变革。 [6-7]

组建情况

2017年6月15日，“珠海一号”商业遥感卫星星座01组2颗卫星已成功搭载发射入轨，工作正常。

2018年4月26日，“珠海一号”02组5颗卫星由长征十一号固体运载火箭，采用“一箭五星”的方式成功送入预定轨道。其中两颗高光谱卫星分别冠名为“贵阳一号”卫星和“青科大一号”卫星。 [1] [6]

2018年12月17日，“中国商业航天高光谱卫星数据首发会”在北京举行，“珠海一号”商业航天高光谱卫星数据首次对外发布。“珠海一号”7颗卫星在轨运行正常，平均每5天就可以对全球覆盖一遍，其数据应用将开启中国定量遥感新时代。 [6]

2019年9月19日14时42分，“珠海一号”03组5颗卫星，由长征十一号运载火箭，在酒泉卫星发射中心采取一箭五星的方式成功送入预定轨道。03组卫星包括4颗高光谱卫星和1颗0.9m分辨率视频卫星。其中，高光谱卫星空间分辨率为10m，光谱分辨率2.5nm，具有256个波段，幅宽达150km，是中国国内幅宽最大的高光谱卫星。此次发射完成了“珠海一号”卫星星座8颗高光谱卫星组网，可实现2天半时间覆盖全球、对特定区域1天重访，全年数据采集总量达7.15PB，采集高光谱数据覆盖面积2188000万平方千米，大幅度提高星座采集遥感数据的能力。 [2]

“珠海一号”其中的4颗高光谱卫星是全球25颗高光谱卫星家族中的重要成员，也是国内唯一完成发射并组网的商用高光谱卫星，其特色高光谱数据具有世界一流水平，具备对植被、水体、海洋等地物进行精准定量分析的能力，已经在军民融合、自然资源监测、环保监测、海洋监测、农作物面积统计以及估产、保险定价与理赔、应急管理、城市规划、重大工程监测等领域得到了示范应用，充分体现了卫星定量遥感的优势，受到了部队、政府、行业等诸多用户的好评。如在贵州省玉米种植面积统计、新疆棉花种植面积统计、雄安新区农作物分类等应用中，精确度达到90%以上。 [6]

On June 15, 2017, two satellites of the "Zhuhai No. 1" commercial remote sensing satellite constellation 01 group have been successfully launched into the orbit and work normally.
On April 26, 2018, the "Zhuhai No. 1" Group 2 five satellites were successfully transported into the orbit by the "Long Arrow" five-station solid rocket. Two of the hyperspectral satellites are named "Guiyang No. 1" satellite and "Qingke No. 1" satellite respectively. [1] [6]
On December 17, 2018, the "China Commercial Aerospace Hyperspectral Satellite Data First Meeting" was held in Beijing, and the "Zhuhai No. 1" commercial aerospace hyperspectral satellite data was released for the first time. 此次全新登场的东风-41导弹，是我国自主研制的新一代战略核导弹，具有单车集成化程度高、发射系统功能全等优势，特别在突防能力、打击能力、生存能力上有很大的提升。

随着导弹武器的不断发展完善，东风-41导弹的智能化程度更高，仅仅只需要几个人就能完成发射，彻底告别了过去的“千人一杆枪”的大阵仗，操作发射变得更加简单、便捷、高效。

东风-41导弹还有一个特点是灵活机动。它可以在高原、戈壁、雪地、沙漠等极端地域行驶，只要是国土范围之内，哪里都可以有它的身影。像我们常见的高速公路，甚至是一个篮球场上，都可以进行无依托的随机发射。

In 2017 Jan, China had already 4 brigades of DF41 operational.

The Dong Feng 41 (CSS-X-10) is a road- and rail-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The DF-41 completed all testing stages and deployed in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) since 2017. It is estimated to have an operational range of 12,000 to 15,000 km, which would make it the longest range missile in operation. It will likely have a top speed of Mach 25 and will be capable of delivering up to 10 MIRVed warheads. Throw weight of DF-41 is 2,500 kg.
The DF-41 is a three-stage solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile reported to have a maximum range of up to 15,000 kilometers (more than 9320 miles) and a top speed of Mach 25 (19,030 mph). It is said to be capable of carrying up to 10 multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle (MIRVs). Its launch preparation time is estimated to be between 3 to 5 minutes.

This would make the DF-41 the world's longest range missile, surpassing the range of the US LGM-30 Minuteman which has a reported range of 13,000 km. Throw weight of LGM-30 is only 1000kg or just 3 numbers of 170kton nukes. USA UGM-133 Trident II throw weight is only 2,800 kg.

As by Jan 2017, Chinese media have reported the deployment of three brigades of DF-41 ICBMs. There is photographic evidence of a possible fourth brigade of DF-41 ICBMs on the Tibetan plateau. However, we have only counted the number of DF-41 ICBM TELs (ie. Transporter Erector Launcher), or 4 X 12 TELs
It is inefficient to fire only one ballistic missile per launcher. It is more logical to fire two ballistic missiles per launcher. This process is called re-loading. A DF-41 TEL can either be re-loaded with another DF-41 ICBM missile nearby or the DF-41 TEL can drive to a hidden re-supply location for another DF-41 ICBM.

If you accept that China has one re-load missile for each DF-41 TEL then the total number of Chinese DF-41 ICBMs has to be doubled.
Four brigades of DF-41 ICBMs (Heilongjiang, Henan, Xinjiang, and Tibet Provinces) with one re-load per DF-41 TEL yields 96 total DF-41 ICBMs.
How many brigades of DF-41 since 2017 number of 4 brigades?
6 Brigades or 8 Brigades?

There are 3 brigades of DF5Bs, or 3X12 DF5Bs, throw weight of 5,000 kgs
Might be even more now. And 2 years back, China completed all tests on DF5Cs. Even more powerful than DF5Bs

7 brigades of DF31As, mirving 3 nukes since 2005. I presume DF31AG is even more powerful and accurate.

The combined throw weight of Chinese nukes far exceed USA throw nukes.

China will not be the first to use the nuke.

If just 1 nuke hit China city or China armed forces, the bases of USA around the world in Europe and Diego Garcia and Singapore and Japan and USA herself will be turned into molten seas and lakes of multi color glass .

All the USA carriers that still remained will be taken out. Even if the carrier try to hide in Frisco Bay or Atlantic Ocean.

So please be peaceful and respectful and more courtesy, and no more phony FONOPs and playing games of who will blink with China with phony FONOPs. Do not play with fire regarding Taiwan. DO NOT THREATEN TO NUKE CHINA
