Keechiu visited ITE College West.

Had an enjoyable visit to ITE College West, where I got to witness some eye-opening displays of technologies that are used in the students’ training.
Tried my hand at using an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) scanner to discover potential issues in a hybrid car

, and even programming a drone to fly and land!
The highlight of the visit was interacting with the many enthusiastic students, who showed passion and talent in what they do. Truly an invigorating experience!

Happy to share a new joint research facility between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MOECRT) of the Republic of Indonesia.
To be launched in 2023, the Indonesia NTU Singapore Institute of Research for Sustainability and Innovation (INSPIRASI), aims to co-develop research and academic programmes, focusing on climate change and sustainable development.
NTU joins Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember as the founding universities of this first-of-its-kind research facility.
Congratulations to NTU and our Indonesian friends for this important milestone in sustainability research and bilateral cooperation.
Looking forward to INSPIRASI's future achievements!

“Our definitions of success must move beyond achievements to contributions. The ability to contribute is what gives us a sense of dignity and pride as contributing fellow Singaporeans.”
In my closing remarks at the #ForwardSG Equip pillar engagement, I encouraged participants to think about how they define success.
Let us strive to do our part for our communities and create a more caring Singapore.

Singapore is a food paradise, and we all have our favourite hawker food that we indulge in.
I had fun sharing my favourite hawker fare through a ‘game’ with students of ITE College West

Keechiu wants you to have fun cooking.

Chan Chun Sing

14 h ·
If I were given a mystery ingredient and challenged to cook a dish within 50 minutes, I would certainly struggle quite a bit - but these Sec 1 students from Junyuan Secondary gamely took on the challenge!
The annual JY MasterChef cook-off saw 36 teams racing against time to research, plan and cook their dishes!
This year, each team of 4 had to create a dish based on the theme, ‘grains’. They were given grains, including basmati rice, brown rice, or quinoa. Other ingredients and condiments were also available to fuel their creativity.
The school’s Applied Learning Programme is in Food Science and this has been a milestone activity since 2013, with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to #COVID19. Every batch of students look forward to it and always have fun applying what they’ve learnt.
Why not have a fun cooking activity with your children this holiday? Set them a theme and discuss how to plan and research on the dish to prepare. Let them exercise their creativity while making a tasty dish and practising food hygiene.
Enjoy cooking up a storm!

My advice to students whenever I get the chance to meet them - what’s more important is surpassing yourself in life, rather than surpassing others in an exam.

Keechiu is inspired by Dr Chiradip Chatterjee, a senior lecturer in pharmaceutical science at Republic Polytechnic.
"

As an old saying goes, "EMPTY VESSELS MAKE THE GREAATEST SOUND"

It is literally true as "Fully Filled pot does not spill (literal) and the Empty vessels make the most noises here and there, everywhere"

It is time to recognize such empty vessels that infiltrated into Republic and this guy Dr Chiradip Chatterjee is one of them. He was imported from India and is given so much freedom in MOE by the PAP. He enjoys more freedom in SG than locals. These guys are anti-social, egoistic and racists. Their doctorate degrees do not justify their wisdom

If you happen to live in with Neighbours who is a shitskin , you will know. They talk shit but are too loud even at home. I just spent a few mins sitting outside my balcony and I heard a loud noise and even dog was barking so louder. Then I knew that must be from a shitskin. Everyone speaks s louder, and their house is 5 houses away from my place and their conversation can be heard. The other races are very civilized, polite, humble and very private

Please make a note of this guy as you will see me bid farewell to him sooner.

Keechiu wants to know your personal learning journey.:eek::biggrin:

After their exams, the Pri 6 students from Riverside Primary School took a learning journey to the Singapore Hotel and Tourism Education Centre (SHATEC). They visited industrial kitchen facilities, a mock-up of a hotel room, and a drink-mixing instructional facility.
The budding chefs even got the chance to try baking! They were guided by facilitators who demonstrated the process step-by-step, while sharing their experiences.
I am glad the students learnt more about the world of F&B, as well as enjoyed the M&M cookies they made.
What will your personal learning journey be this school holiday?

Keechiu wants to know what you can do in 18 seconds. :o-o:

Chan Chun Sing

11 h ·
What can you do in 18 seconds? Crack an egg, run 50 metres, or give an elevator pitch?
As part of UNTAME #STEMPlayground, students were given a challenge: Build an obstacle course that allows a marble to roll down in exactly 18 seconds.
It was no easy feat! Elden Mok, a Sec 1 student from Yusof Ishak Secondary, had to experiment with many different structures during his attempts. He used a variety of household items, such as cardboard, tape and empty paper towel rolls.
On his 40th attempt, the young innovator’s hard work paid off. His marble ran for precisely 18 seconds!
These activities are not only fun, they nurture skills that prepares our students to be future-ready - resourcefulness, perseverance, and creativity in problem-solving

Keechiu learned a lot as a scout.

Wondering what CCA your child should choose in the coming year?
These moments captured by Mr Muhammad Azhari, who clinched the “Best Photo Story” prize in the “Our Schools, Our Stories” Photo & Video Contest 2022, gives us a sneak peek into the diversity of CCAs in schools.
What I learnt during my school days as a Scout has served me well for life. Do find out more about the CCA options your children’s schools offer and discuss with your children what will best develop their interests and broaden their exposure.

Keechiu is proud of public officers.

Chan Chun Sing

8 h ·
As the Minister-in-charge of the Public Service, I am immensely proud of our many public officers who made exceptional sacrifices to protect the health, safety and livelihoods of Singaporeans in the fight against COVID-19.
From securing vaccines and essential items, keeping our borders open, to taking care of fellow Singaporeans, they are included in the over 100,000 individuals and teams who will be honoured with the National Awards (COVID-19) and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal for their outstanding contributions during the pandemic. The awardees come from the public, private and people sectors, including in particular the public healthcare sector.
Battling COVID-19 has indeed been a whole-of-nation effort. The Singapore Spirit shone brightly as our community, businesses and Government came together, united and determined to overcome this invisible enemy.
My heartiest congratulations to all the recipients! Thank you to everyone and your loved ones too for their unwavering support for all that you have done!
May be an image of 16 people, people sitting and people standing

Keechiu expressed appreciation to retiring principals.

Chan Chun Sing

1 h ·
Our Principals wear many hats.
As School Leaders, they ensure that day-to-day activities in our schools run smoothly and mould each school's unique culture. They are problem-solvers who think innovatively to meet the differing needs of our students. At the same time, they are partnership builders who leverage community resources to provide our students with opportunities and unique experiences.
Most importantly, they are educators at heart who impart critical skills, knowledge and values to students to prepare them for today's challenges and tomorrow's problems.
Today, I was joined by Dr Maliki Osman and Gan Siow Huang 颜晓芳 in appointing 70 Principals and expressing Ministry of Education, Singapore’s appreciation to our retiring Principals for their decades of dedication to the education service.
The theme for this year's Appointment and Appreciation Ceremony for Principals, "Dare to Lead: Undaunted and Resolute," captures the important qualities that our Principals demonstrate in their various roles to lead teachers in supporting our students.
I am confident that our newly-appointed Principals will build on the good work of their predecessors. Be bold, stand by your convictions, and continue to make a positive difference to the lives of our children.
