Keechiu visited Eunos Primary School.

As I listened to the Eunos Primary school song, Natalie and Qayyim shared that it was their “Monday song”! They sang their school song every Monday but that is soon to change. The school will be going through a merger next year.
As Natalie and Qayyim shared their Eunos story with me, it was clear how much the school had an impact on their lives and that of many others. The painting of The Eunos Story reflects the many experiences Eunosians enjoyed. The Primary 3 students had a Cultural Appreciation Programme where they visited the homes of teachers and families. There, they experienced the typical home environment of other races, tasted an ethnic food and tried a cultural activity. Pounding spices was one of them! Can you spot the pestle and mortar, a rocket launcher and archery too?
As part of embracing the transition, students and teachers drew their memorable spaces in school. The painting on the mirror done by Natalie was a creative way to capture the art room that she loves.
I also joined Project Endeavour students for their last session where they baked cookies and treats for their celebrations. Had the chance to dabble with circus arts like Poi Spinning too!
Thank you, Eunos Primary for letting me walk down your memory lane alongside you and sharing with me the richness of your school. May you continue to enjoy a vibrant culture in your new school!

What if working adults could accumulate credits through short study programmes and/or workplace learning, and stack them towards a university degree?
Not only will this allow them to remain in full-time employment, they can upskill or reskill at their preferred pace.
Happy to share that Singapore Institute of Technology inked Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with NCS, Singtel, Singapore Computer Society, Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic today, marking the start of collaborations on SIT's new Competency-based Stackable Micro-credentials (CSM) pathway.
Kudos to SIT for empowering working adults to take charge of their lifelong learning journeys!

The success of our education system ought not be defined by the first 15 years of our students’ lives, but the next 50 years of their lives.
Spoke at Singapore University of Social Sciences Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Symposium on how it is important for teaching to go beyond just the transmission of knowledge.
▪️
We must facilitate discovery, inculcate curiosity, and equip learners with the skills and mindset to learn, un-learn and re-learn throughout their lives.
▪️
Helping our students be future-ready in a world fraught with change starts with equipping them to frame the challenges of tomorrow, with solutions of the future.
SUSS will be introducing a new curriculum to be implemented from July 2023, which aims to enhance students' employability and education experience.
Students will enjoy more white space for self and peer learning, interdisciplinary subjects, and greater engagement with the curriculum.
I commend SUSS for their pioneering spirit in spearheading new pedagogies to meet Singapore's evolving needs, Congratulations, and I look forward to your future contributions to adult learning!

With increasing political, economic and social uncertainties around the world, the urgent in the short term has distracted many from the importance of looking long-term.
Steward leadership is undoubtedly effortful, but we must not be daunted. Indeed, it is essential now more than ever for organisations to create value responsibly. As a society, we should consider stewardship in these dimensions: environmental, fiscal, knowledge, and values. Then, we would stand a better chance at creating a more sustainable future for our children.
Congratulations to Stewardship Asia Centre for their inaugural Steward Leadership Summit! It is my hope that more businesses and leaders would look beyond the here and now, to inculcate a desire and persistence to create a collective better future together.

Sensing molecules in the air to detect unseen threats had been a pipe dream for years past, but it may soon become a reality with the research done at the Institute of Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS).
Supported by Ministry of Education, Singapore, the IDMxS is a research institute dedicated to cutting edge molecular science and analytics research, and the seventh Research Centre of Excellence (RCE) in Singapore. The research facility aims to advance the interdisciplinary science of digital molecular analytics with the goal of creating capabilities to track information such as viral infections or molecular signatures in a real time manner.
Congratulations to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore on the launch of IDMxS today! I look forward to IDMxS' breakthroughs in this new field of science!

Excited to unveil the design for the new Science Centre Singapore today!
This will be a Centre for all ages. More than just a new building in a great setting, we are envisioning so many possibilities of what it can offer to our people.
There will be a Children’s Gallery with its own interactive outdoor water-play area and discovery trails in the secondary forest. We will also place a greater emphasis on facilitating parental involvement in their children’s learning experiences, allowing them to discover and learn together.
For students, the new Science Centre will act as a large, interactive STEM classroom for applied learning, and they can look forward to entering specialised labs and workshops that encourage hands-on learning of scientific concepts.
I would also like to invite our industry partners to be part of this vibrant ecosystem of expertise and talent. Companies will be able to showcase their cutting-edge technologies to the public, increasing visibility of their research and processes, allowing us to showcase the best of Singapore’s science for the world to see.
We hope to have the new Science Centre ready for its 50th anniversary around 2027, and aim for it to continue to be the beacon for Singapore’s Science and Technology.

Tan Jing Yi loved gaming so much in primary school that she decided to learn how to design her own games at Nanyang Polytechnic.
1f47e.png

Her passion for game design led her to clinch a Silver medal in 3D Digital Game Art at the prestigious WorldSkills Singapore Competition 2022 Special Edition. This is a platform for highly-skilled youths to showcase their capabilities in various fields, alongside competitors from 55 countries.
Jing Yi is among the team of 29 youths who brought home Singapore's highest-ever haul of Gold, Silver & Bronze medals in the WorldSkills Competition. This includes Singapore’s first ever gold medals in Additive Manufacturing, Hotel Reception and Water Technology.
An inspiring performance by #TeamSingapore
