My steak dinner

I'm a sea salt only kind of guy. No mustard unless, it's cold beef, but I will take horseradish with a roast.
You are more discerning than me. In the absence of english mustard or horseradish, I would use wasabi. Nothing to mask the smell and flavour of that glorious piece of medium rare beef, and at the same time, honouring the animal that gave me her flesh.

:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy: compliments taken with due humility. I love eating well and sharing a good time with kaki.

but wasabi?

with you all the way in honouring the life of that which died to sustain me.

Indeed, we owe it to ourselves to eat well, drink well, and ffff well (couldn't spell it out, it seems inappropriate in a food thread )Yes, but everything in moderation.

Try your next beef steak with wasabi. It's good. Really.

And speaking of drinking well, I still have unfinished Grey Goose, but I order two bottles of single malt. Laphroaig 10 yrs old. Decided to swap out for a bit.

Islay?? Ah... you're a smoker... I can't touch Islay. Highland or speyside all the way for me. But I guess you probably think tasteless, right? :sneaky:

Yep, Islay. I love the smoked taste. With about 20% water, or three ice cubes. Why don't you like? I don't recall ever trying Highland or Speyside. But will have a go at them, always good to taste and learn. Thanks.

Thank god you said 20% water. I can still drink with you. You say neat, I stop talking to you... Just kidding of course. If you're an Islay drinker don't bother trying. You'll find it missing character. I can't stand the smoked taste. In fact, I detest a lot of smoked foods. Not a smoker...

Always a pleasure glockie. :notworthy:

Neat only for brandy and vodka:biggrin: OK, point noted, will not bother with the other two. I LOVE smoked meats, what's there not to like about them?

 on the brandy and vodka. although sometimes I take my vodka with hot water!!

smoking really drives me nuts. Everytime someone gives me a smoked something or another, I always find I prefer some other method of preservation. Smoke scallops? nope. fresh or dried. Smoked meat? nope. cured or salted. The list is endless. About the only thing I like smoked is oysters...
