tony adds a different angle and color, albeit annoying sometimes, to the forum. he's part of the rather familiar atmosphere in sbf. you walk into any bar you've never been before, and it feels strange and alien. you walk into sbf, and when you see tony repeating the same annoying phrases, you know you're home and in very familiar quarters. there used to be madmansg in the old sbf repeating the same worn out phrase "ns is killing sg!" the moment he disappears from sbf, many of us including me feel a void. but those few words still ring in my ear. there was also marjojohn with his predictable sexcapades and oft repeated "lau kway bu tonic is (still) the best!" littlereddot would add "dot" to all his one liners. kind of miss that now. the late ramseth would harp on his handsomeness. those short repetitive bursts of character, personality, identity and uniqueness give life to the forum. they may noy be intellectual, profound, informative or intelligent, but in the random chaotic mess of a free-for-all forum (minus the gore and porn), they make it a noisy jungle full of life and spontaneity.

i enjoy life and spontaneity in a forum more than mental masturbation and gossipy political insider cocksucking that some are eager to dish out at others as part of ego building. the clubbish cliques can have their orderly space, but you'll notice they have abandoned that space (not one but many) and started to join the jungle. life and spontaneity with colorful birds calling out their familiar tunes and animals carving out niches for survival and existence attract attention, and in turn it creates life and spontaneity...sometimes with predictable patterns and sometimes with sudden violence and drama. they happen naturally. can't force it.

i have enough intellectual and mental exercise in my profession, and i hate to continue that pursuit in a casual coffee shop such as this. if i need to deep dive and practise my u.s. political punditry, i can do that in bully pulpit where usual suspects are, and they're good, very good. if i want to discuss napoleon or hannibal and their campaigns in depth, i can easily go to forums dedicated to those subjects. but in sbf i can find a familiar pub or jungle resort where equalisation gets drunk on chivas and heineken and goes "binya" and tony chirps his usual mocking jay tweet and gets walloped and lynch mobbed by chimpanzees.

the sbf jungle is better with all the birds, insects (oh dear, gms will lynch me) and animals making all the sounds and noises they want. can't change, mould or manipulate them as such amusing behavior is instinctive. we never know. i normally ignore tony. but if we engage tony in vegetarian dietary discourse, he may want to have a deeper intercourse and go nuts on that line of resource.

Whatever that was done then is now consigned to the annals of learning experience for all on the expected social norms and etiquette of forum behavior. Not to say that we are done with all of that and we can be atas about it, but I have always enjoyed this relatively free medium for being a small form of democracy that we can participate in in this small corner of cyberspace.

Now honestly if we just stop and seriously think about some of the stuff Tonychat said doesn't it reflect some part of us as a Singaporean (yes me included, I may be the worst sinkie who ran away to Siam)? I would dismiss Tonychat anyday for a simple reason - his intent is not to correct our faults or even to make a humourous joke out of them (like we sometimes do with other cultures that refuse to integrate with mainstream society).

He is merely here to troll the forum with his negativity and pass crude remarks that display his own lack of upbringing. There is nothing of value at all in what he says. It is repetitive, rude, biased, uneducated.

How do you distill truth and value from something that is already so laden with a person's prejudice and negativity?

You can't.

Not to say that we are done with all of that and we can be atas about it, but I have always enjoyed this relatively free medium for being a small form of democracy that we can participate in in this small corner of cyberspace.

There are many assholes in this forum that i dislike and they have clones accounts. What can i do since i don't own this forum? The only options are either for me quit this forum or take things easy. Same for them too.
