Malaysia Can't

looks like you agree with me that a holiday in nz or aus is better than MY, Thai

Europe, I based on hearsay. I've only been to UK before on a couple of weeks' working trip, not the rest of Europe. Australia and NZ, I've been there on vacation for a couple of weeks there before too. They're generally the same as Canada, where I've lived a couple of months before. Very cleanly or orderlily organised. Relaxing, slow pace and safe feeling.

US, that's like second home to me. I've lived there for years. There're certain areas that are certainly not safe for decent ladies to roam about.

For Sgns and expats based in Little Red Dot, Malaysia offers nice resorts and a country to explore. The exchange rate is nice too.

If not for the minorities in MY working the private sector and MNCs, the monkeys there lack the oomph to meet international standards.

In a nutshell, it is NOT Malaysia Boleh but Malaysia Bodoh.

But who care eh?

Cheers!

We should be thankful that the M'sia government is not competent. Thankful also that M'sia is relatively backward compared to us.

The consequences of M'sian efficiency can only mean S'pore suffers as a nation. We are reaping the rewards currently, similar to the past 4-5 decades.

WOW!!! Which part of usa were you in? I hv visited LA, LV, SFO, NYC, Connecticut, Florida, etc..yes, certain areas are not very safe..but it was not the Police nor the authorities that make it unsafe. But in MY, I now feel unsafe because of the Police

Of all the countries you have visited, which do you like most?

That's true for MY and SG now.

But look at the EU, life need not be a zero sum game...it can be win-win. so if MY and SG can cooperate well, we may get synergies that increases the pie and both countries gain.

When I was in US, my home and office was in SF. But I made frequent working trips to Seattle, LA, Chicago, NY, Philly, DC and Miami (Florida).

The police is alright. I had some police friends in SFPD too. Because I'm ex-police too, guess we could communicate and befriend easily.

After there for long, I know there're some very dangerous areas in LA and SF that even police could get killed. However, these aren't tourist areas.

In my humble opinion, EU doesn't have the characteristics of the MY-SG 'special relationship''. The landscape involved is very different - economics, politics etc. While it is great not to engage in zero sum game, at times it is inevitable. If we are not a Chinese dominated society, it may be easier. Don't forget past baggage. Perhaps we can be optimistic after 2-3 generations.

Yes, tourists and visitors avoid the notorious areas amd this is within our control

Yes, the culture and politics of MY and SG are not compatible for a harmonious working relationship...add the personality conflicts and baggages the past leaders carry and everything point to a bad combination.

BTW, LHL and Najib seem to be working together quite well..wonder what's the secret? or is there an invisible hand at work?

LHL and Najib are like newly weds. Give them a little more time and the picture will be clearer. Najib needs to appease his people and the best and surest way is S'pore bashing. LHL luckier in this aspect - S'poreans appease him.

Good observations.

Sometimes, looking at lhl, i wonder how long he can hold himself as PM shd his father pass away. LHL doesnt come across as a confident and strong leader...on the contrary, he comes across as underconfident.

I dont think he can last long

God is watching his every move. Whether LHL lasts, God decides.

Yes, He has the last say...But for the sake of SG, it's better for LKY and LHL to leave soon so that no more damage is inflicted.

Their short-sighted policies are causing long term damages to SG
