Apart from the education system, which basically inculcates obedience to authority, I suppose the most destructive factor on our society must be the astronomical and out-of-this-world salaries of the top leaders, which is based on the dubious assumption that they are equal to top business leaders, plus the equally dubious argument that they need to have so much money to keep them free from corruption. The 'value system' (of greed) will definitely somehow filter downwards with undesirable effects on the minds of the masses.

That is not quite accurate. The trips are self funded if you are a volunteer. The trips are paid for by PA if you are a staff of the PA or if you are a PA appointed Grassroots Adviser. This is because the PA staff and PA Grassroots Adviser are attending these trips in an official capacity to work.
