i dont blame the 60% as they dont get to hear nor read the truth.

many of the 60% are our mums , dads, grandmas, granddads who are thankful and grateful to the old pap..they do not know the present pap..

I think behind this mentality of the 60% is not that the PAP can do no wrong but rather the Opposition can do no right. Decades of indoctrination have left a hard to erase perception that the Opposition is a useless lot in the mind of this 60%.

So in order to remove this prejudiced image, Opposition parties should stop all infighting and begin to engage professionals to improve their public image. Once this image is corrected, the electorate can then be brought to see how badly the PAP performs in so many areas. Telling how bad PAP is is not enough. A two-prong approach is required and it should include an improvement in personal image.

When FTs become PRs and later citizens who can vote, they will face the same cost issue of raising the family in Singapore, the stresses at work and in the infrastructure and the competition from low cost FTs. Only privileged FTs earning fat salaries and FTs with low salaries but who have left their families in their home countries can survive in Singapore. Once they settle down and raise their families here, they will need the salaries of the locals to survive and that is when they will face the reality of their situation.

Any one of the awakened 40% can see where the bad actually lies.
But that does not make the 60.1% innocent and be forgiven, though they should not be punished, since it would be enough punishment for them to see the misery they themselves have brought upon their descendants by their wrong voting.

even with losing a GRC the PAP is still chugging along like a juggernaut with their FT agenda and price/rental hikes ... I suspect that they are not here to support the cause of the people but something else more selfish and sinister....

is it because of the need to keep up their housing Ponzi scheme????

If we start to get to the real reason for all their actions and policies, we probably find all their hands in the cookie jar........

Righteous people of substance can join a strong opposition to help eradicate societal evil. But that does not preclude them aspiring for the presidency in due course.

A good and righteous person of moral substance certainly deserves to be President, at any time, and regardless of his political affiliation.
