Is the old Singapore better than the new Singapore.

The current S'pore is the most expensive city in the world, thanks to the PAP. Don't believe PM Wong when it says that he is trying his best to shield us from the rising cost of living. The govt is the cause of the skyrocketing cost of living in SG.

I think the old was also good.
Maybe better

Riding through the streets of Singapore in 1967

As the video begins, it's as though I've stepped into a time machine, whisked away to a cherished era I've wandered through countless times in my dreams. The swaying coconut trees, the quaint shop houses, the boy pedaling his bicycle, and the vintage buses and cars—they paint a picture of my Singapore, a place of timeless beauty and nostalgia. Oh, how enchanting it is!

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I was in Pri 5 in 1967. I still recognise the streets and many of the buildings, though many no longer exist. This nostalgic moment made me shed a tear.

Those were the days when we felt bullied, unified and determined not to die.
We suffered .... happily with a purpose.
.
Preparing for "Bersatu Padu". We were invincible. Proud Singaporeans.

Will you die for Singapore?
This guy will as well as all the politicians
For the general public when the time comes to die for Singapore - the room will be empty
I am berry disappointed with the Sinkies

lol

I am afraid that's how the govt set our minds to be. that Singapore is a place where you make a fortune. anyone who can contribute to the economy can come and stay, and anyone who doesn't like it, can go. so you tell me, why would singaporeans die for a place where it merely functions as a company?

The irony. When we are overseas, we feel a sense of pride calling ourselves Singaporeans but when it comes to defending her, no one is willing. After reading all the comments, it's sad to know that nothing matters more to us than what is materialistic. The government isnt the country. The country is where you grow up, the bonds you have formed and the love ones you have here.

8 minutes of propaganda. Sounds like something you would hear from a patriot of singapore if such people existed. Let's be honest here, Singapore is being ran like a company. Singaporeans are like herds of sheep to our government. They do whatever they want to improve the company's earnings, international status and political 'stability' even to the extent of sacrificing the quality of life and standard of living of their employees (local singaporeans). I will not die for singapore because I will not die for a MNC. Singapore is not a family, not a home, it's a MultiNational Company, a MNC.

I will not die for my country. It has given me everything but should the time come when the only choice is to move somewhere else, I'd move. Patriotism is an overrated concept.

What kind of dumb question is that?
Will you die for sg?
You will not find one out of the millions.
If you can find one, I chop on the spot.

Well the guy in the video said he will die for Singapore
So now at what time will you chop
Maybe the Padang will be a good spot.
lol

Because LKY sacrificed his life for you Sinkies and cause you to live in pigeon holes with all the CECA looking down on you Sinkies
lol
I would die for Singapore if CECA agreement were to be abolished, it is a torture in life to see them daily and live with them in such a tiny pathetic country

Who wants a high standard of living with so high cost living, stress and unhappiness?
I rather our country remains as in 70s and 80s, no CECA Indians, everybody living happily, harmoniously and loves the government whole heartedly.

Swiss Cost of Living (left) vs Swiss Standard of Living (right).

CECAs have the best life in SG. White collar jobs, but no NS obligations i.e. all the benefits, but none of the responsibilities.
