Pasar Malam?
Evolution Of Pasar Malams In Singapore
I wonder if Old Fart Lee took the money with him to wherever he went. The only constant is change. Even LKY conceded that the sacrificial days of the Old Guard are over, and the ministers who would come after him would only serve for a king's ransom. He used it as an excuse to give himself a hefty pay hike at that time as well.
No computer games somemorePasar Malams in old Singapore allows citizens to buy cheap food cheap goods in the roadside stalls ..... now Pasar Malams in new Singapore skin and chop citizens and FTs carrotheads with expensive food and low ses items at higher prices in the brightly decorated stalls ..... this is "evolution".![]()
S'pore would be far more liveable with 3 million residents.the new garment made sure sinkees are crowded out so they can make space for the world's rich and famous
I wonder if Old Fart Lee took the money with him to wherever he went. Maybe living in a grand castle now
Simi lancheow sacrificial days of the Old Guard? The old guard was stealing money just like the new group of PAP crooks. Old Fart forgot to mention Lee and Lee was given default conveyancing lawyer for HDB? How many billions his wife made from it? He also forgot he and Pinky, and their relatives all demanded discount from OBS for Nassim Jade condos? He forgot Teh Cheang Wan? He was already giving himself hefty pay.The only constant is change. Even LKY conceded that the sacrificial days of the Old Guard are over, and the ministers who would come after him would only serve for a king's ransom. He used it as an excuse to give himself a hefty pay hike at that time as well.
He speaks excellent English. Passed away in 2019 at the age of 87.
I agree 3-4 million would have been the best.S'pore would be far more liveable with 3 million residents.
It is inhumane to squeeze 6 million people into a tiny island living cheek by jowl in the HDB heartlands. Even farm animals will go crazy living in such crammed conditions.I agree 3-4 million would have been the best.

We are no better than cockroaches who may be stamped on by the MIW if we cross them.so ... sinkies now downgrade from daft to animal and now to pests (insects) ? the erection is really evolutional ...![]()
Who wants a high standard of living with so high cost living, stress and unhappiness?PAP has destroyed the tranquility this island had long ago.
I say the 1980s were the bestWho wants a high standard of living with so high cost living, stress and unhappiness?
I rather our country remains as in 70s and 80s, no CECA Indians, everybody living happily, harmoniously and loves the government whole heartedly.
Can bring own eggs to buy char away teow in 70s!I say the 1980s were the best
Not too ancient or too modern
And the wonton mee, char kway teow, mee rebus, chee kway, Muthu curry, hokkien mee and hor fun still tasted good
lol
I think the old was also good.
Maybe better

As the video begins, it's as though I've stepped into a time machine, whisked away to a cherished era I've wandered through countless times in my dreams. The swaying coconut trees, the quaint shop houses, the boy pedaling his bicycle, and the vintage buses and cars—they paint a picture of my Singapore, a place of timeless beauty and nostalgia. Oh, how enchanting it is!

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I was in Pri 5 in 1967. I still recognise the streets and many of the buildings, though many no longer exist. This nostalgic moment made me shed a tear.
