East Coast Plan unveiled

It would indeed be worrying if HSK is not around to attend all the functions that he has time to attend because he has no portfolio.

He's the DPM and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies in the PMO. Those are heavy responsibilities.

People with the titles "Deputy" and "Coordinating" in their job titles are usually quite free.

Deputy PM and Coordinating Minister mean HSK is not responsible for anything. If we dont see him more means he is not well or he is lazy

That's not true. Deputy PM is like the right hand or left hand of the Prime Minister. Those are heavy responsibilities. If they are quite free, it's like saying any uneducated security guard ah pek could easily serve as our DPMs.

Agree that any uneducated security guard ah pek could easily serve as DPM.
And yes, the PM is also quite free.

Yes. You are right. As DPM he is not responsible. So anyone can be DPM in PAP Cabinet. If not for being a yes man, HSK maybe a a private hire driver for Grab. Dont think too highly of him

HSK launches Research Translation @ ST Engineering.

Heng Swee Keat

12 hrs ·
The digital display at ST Engineering may appear like a complex wall of charts, but they show how big data can be used to improve the hospital experience for patients.
During the pandemic, ST Engineering worked with Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) to optimise critical resources and reduce wait time for tests. This is an example of how ST Engineering translates R&D into real products and services that make life better for people. At National Research Foundation Singapore, we believe strongly that this must be one of the key outcomes of our investments in RIE.
For this reason, I was glad to launch Research Translation @ ST Engineering, which also involves National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, SUTD Singapore University of Technology & Design and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). This initiative moves researchers out of their labs and research institutions into industrial environments, to form multi-disciplinary teams focused on translating research to meet industry and customer needs. I wish the collaborative teams success.

Interacting with a virtual hologram with the Microsoft HoloLens Device on. This device helps in training and simulation scenarios. For example, it allows an operator to visualise where and when they are needed in the assembly and dismantling of train boogie.

HSK enjoys his plant-based bento.

This may look like an ordinary bento box, but all the dishes come from sustainable sources, including different types of plant-based meat. The bento dinner was served at the launch of the Singapore International Agri-Food Week last evening.
I shared in my speech how we can further innovation to tackle the “three zeros” of the global food challenge — zero hunger, zero waste, and net carbon zero.
As part of this effort, Temasek has formed a number of partnerships, including one with Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) to set up the Food Tech Innovation Centre. Over S$30 million will be invested in the next three years to help start-ups with their product and process development, especially for alternative proteins.
With our collective effort, we can tackle the global food challenge and create a more liveable world.
