Our vibrant East Coast is filled with pockets of beauty and joy, thanks to our wonderful community. One example is this beautiful ‘New World’ mural along the corridor of the SUN-DAC Activity Centre at Block 40 Bedok South Road. Snap a photo here the next time you’re in Bedok!

Glad that our residents had a great time at our Bedok Chinese New Year dinner! Some enjoyed the songs so much that they got up to dance on stage!
We were also treated to performances by talented artistes, who sang in multiple languages!
A wonderful reminder of our multiracial and multicultural society, where we celebrate the different ethnic festivals together, and form closer bonds with one another.

Happy to attend The Heart of Jun: Memoirs of Zhaojun, a co-production by Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and Siong Leng Musical Association. The ensemble of Eastern and Western classical musicians performed a wonderful fusion of traditional Nanyin music and music composed by Siong Leng.
It narrates the voyage of three women who set sail from China to Southeast Asia in the early 20th century to seek their destinies. What struck me most was how this narrative resonates with Singapore's own voyage over the past six decades, highlighting themes of courage, unity, and the pursuit of new horizons.
This was held as part of the Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts 华艺节 at Esplanade, which showcases the works of outstanding Chinese artists from traditional to contemporary genres, and enriches our local cultural scene.
My thanks to Siong Leng's music director Ng Kang Kee, the cast, and crew, for dedicating themselves to preserving and refining authentic Nanyin music, and for putting up such an excellent performance!
