HSK had an immersive experience.
Had an immersive experience in the Singapore-made Hyundai IONIQ 5 electric car as it cruised around the rooftop skytrack during my recent visit to the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS).
This may look like fun, but the HMGICS is a very serious innovation centre!
The Manufacturing Engineering Lab and Production Area employ cutting-edge innovations, such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, and AI to optimise production. These solutions are tested and refined here, then scaled up at other Hyundai Motor Group plants globally.
Such advanced manufacturing capabilities support Singapore’s efforts to transform our economy for the future. I was heartened to hear that HMGICS has benefitted from our innovation ecosystem, and is collaborating with local institutions like Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The future economy will bring new job opportunities – I was glad to meet many promising Singaporean engineers and technicians working at HMGICS. I encourage HMGICS to provide even more international opportunities for young Singaporeans in the Hyundai Motor Group.
The HMGICS will be open to the public mid of this month. Do visit to learn more about the future of mobility and manufacturing!
