COE Will Crash

PAP will perhaps bite the bullet and retain the COE scheme because it is a cash cow. BUt Singaporeans need to vote wisely to punish pap for its arrogance

70% wisely voted for PAP. Aint tat not convincing enough?:)

If Coe crash that's because new ERP adds $10k/year to motorist road tax

Lppl

We are not the world's most expensive city for nothing......
We are the most expensive place but we are not the most efficient nor the most attractive place. We pay for pap's inefficiency and we dont get value for what we pay for

the entire electorate doesn’t consist of old foggies like you and I. in the next GE, some 35% will be voters under 30 years old or under, i.e those born in 80s and after. have you spoken to these group of chaps? the largest group would still be baby-boomers and above, and those above 70 are fiercely loyal to LKY.
I am not an old foggy. Yes, I hv spoken to a wide spectrum of Singaporeans and I am convinced the pap will get slap if the pap doesnt play dirty. I sense the pap will play dirty to try hold on to power

Crash to how much? Must specify leh...

even the pap doesnt know. It depends on how extensive is the OBU coverage and how much the pap charges for road usage.

But i predict that road tax may be abolished and the impact on COE will be severe. In fact will there be a need for COE since car ownership, if car is not used, becomes inconsequential. But i doubt many singaporeans know the significance of the introduction of OBU

Knowing their pattern, COE won't be abolished, they can say they control car population through restriction of ownership (COE) and OBU is to reduce traffic jams. There are people who are willing to buy OPC just to own a car (OPC is still a thing), so there is a substantial pool of people who buy and own a car, but not necessarily high or justifiable usage. Road tax is for the development of roads and related infrastructure; cars, motorcycles, buses, lorries all have to pay, it can be said that road tax exists even without ERP. At the end of the day, this is blatant and plain that this OBU is an additional feature towards a car-lite SG grand masterplan. (Insert whatever hocus pocus they will say to justify this thing).

So, no.. COE will not crash below whatever is the normal lows... even though i REALLY hope it will... and REALLY hope no road tax... but there are too many rich people and too many aspirants to make this hope come true.
