I am waiting for a murder or (dog)man-slaughter to happen and it is unstoppable. Can happen any time.
This is the problem with the welfare system. The needy always has to jump through a series of hoops as in a circus in order to get a few measly $ from welfare aid. No one in parliament batted an eyelid when Temasek lost S$58B, but they will debate for hours over a mere S$30 increase in welfare aid.
Australia doesn't have the reserves that our government often boasted of, but no questions are asked when they dish out welfare to the needy; and we are not talking about a few miserly dollars.
This is another area this government has failed very badly.
When asking question , our Million dollar MP must be more empathising ! Their tone must be down a bit. You cant help the poor when your tone of voice is like talking down to ppl. Even a 17 yr oold boy felt humiliated by MPs asking question.
We are after all, just a representation of Singaporeans' mindset at large. Whether we grow or wither, whether we are empowered to do anything or not, it depends on the power and will given to us by Singaporeans' votes.

And yet some expats working here, such as one Anthony Fulwood who lives in an executive HDB flat, advises us to resolve issues with our MPs instead of complaining on the internet.
This incident goes toward explaining why ordinary Singaporeans like us do not want to approach the PAP MPs for help.
the reason australia does not have reserves the size of singapore, is because singapore does not have to dish out welfare to the needy.
even a low IQ boy got back bone! what are we doing here kpkb? maybe he is low IQ thats y he throw the chair, but we normal people don't dare to throw chair. at least we can vote them out!!! sad to say, i think most of you here kpkb liao will still vote for MIW. for those who kpkb here and don't dare to vote them out, you can go and die. :oIo:
Hong Kong is planning to make laws on minimum wage at above HK$4000 which is about S$800 or more, priced at HK$33 per hour, roughly S$6.50 per hour. The foreign maids are fighting to be included in the minimum wage legislation. But I think they should think twice because their present pay includes lodging and meals while minimum pay for Hong Kongers do not include that.
It is a shame that our country is allowing such exploitation to go on.

If they had given it to the poor earlier, billions wouldn't be lost due to poor decisions.
If they had gone that route, Singapore would be in debt rather than being up $300 billion in CASH AND GOLD alone.
