Good grief. You make me want to cry. I must stay strong and not cry.

Agree. Chicken rice in LOS sucks. Meat normally over-boiled, rice not oily enough and chilli sauce, no need to say.

Not true leh. Try the chicken rice stall opposite Pratunam Centre, in case it is unclear this is near the junction where Platinum Fashion Mall and Amari Watergate is - they have a very special sauce.

I agree with LeMans. Thailand version of chicken rice (khao man khai) beats Singapore anytime.

Not sure which chicken rice stall i ate at.. but it was the sauce as well that sealed the deal. The roast duck I ate at the famous steamboat chain is also the best I ever eaten. I have eaten alot of roast duck but that is heaven. Mabbe coz its bkk.. when u in heaven.. what you eat taste heaven.. lol..

I think there are two types of chicken rice in Singapore, one is the normal chicken, big fat chicken and the other kampong chicken. Its difficult to say which is better because its up to one's taste and liking. Thailand chicken rice tends to be closer to the kampong chicken with less fat. Also Thailand chicken rice is serve with the special sauce made with soya sauce, chopped chilli, ginger, garlic and also sugar. They do not have chicken rice chilli sauce like we do. Also they do not serve with dark soya sauce which is salty in taste, their version of dark soya sauce is sweet. My conclusion is Thai version of the chicken rice is different from Singapore's. So we cannot compare apple to apple because their different in the way its served. Its either you like it or not but to say which is better is not fair in my opinion.

But then I believe for the rice we can compare and I will say that Singapore's chicken rice is more "phang" fragrance and also has a better texture and feeling (more Q). I will not eat at any of the shops around Pratunam/Platinum area (tried them and not my liking). I do patronise 2 stalls that cooks very good chicken rice I mean the rice is close to the Singapore style and the chicken is also very smooth, one is outside my moobaan and the other is in Soi 40 Paholythin Road, these are stalls tourists will never discover because its in the residential areas. Even for these 2 stalls, I bring my own dark soya sauce mixed with a little light soya sauce and lots of sesame oil and my own Singapore style chicken rice chilli sauce which my maid makes for me. Never like the Thai chicken rice sauce.

Footballer, you are talking about MK steamboat. Yes I agree the roast duck is pretty good if its just brought out, I had lousy roast duck from them too and I told them about it and got it changed to new ones, MK has very good service if you know how to ask.

Oh by the way, heard that Bangkok is going to be dry in 11 days so its ok to come. I just checked and actually Poseidon and below to Rama 9 is all dry so far, I am very surprise. I think if you are hanging around there no problem anytime you can come.

Look at the map below that I downloaded just 10mins ago.

1. See the road between the two RED diamonds is Ratchada Road

2. See the BLUE diamond its Poseidon - high and dry mate.

Bro joetys ,

What's the damage for this beach house ?
Did you have sex on the beach ? Not the cocktail
:p

Its a little ex for this one but wife sianz with Pattaya because too crowded. Got 50% discount to 5,250baht per night. Heard its good. This is going to be my first time in Wang Kaew Resort.

Done it on beaches before ya. A few times on Siloso beach during the early 80s when Siloso beach was a vacant beach especially on weekdays. Changi beach once but please not with katoey na. Thats it. I don't think I like it because the sand always get in the way, its the adventure and the exciting sense that someone is spying that makes it fun. Before young la now old prefer aircon.

Singapore is damn expensive now a days especially after the casinos opened. I always feel very painful whenever I need to stay in the hotel when I am back when wife come with me la. If I come back alone I stay in mama's house on the floor with tee-lam and no aircon.

Checkout from Mercure Pattaya soon. Will take some photo at the new place and if nice will post la. Later on the way out of Pattaya will have a bowl of kway-chap.

THB 5250/night is quite exp. Yes, crowded and traffic jams in most eastern part of LOS, Bang Saen, Pattaya, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trad.

Now in Wang Kaew Resort this place is damn big. Catch you next time ok chonburifc?

Today my cousin bought black chicken. Lucky no more frogs for me to skin. Just dump some herbs and spices into the pot to boil it whole until softened.

Any recommendations from Pan Pan? Forgot to introduce the Spaghetti Kee Mao and home made ice-cream. The anchovies is also a killer!

Saw some fireworks from my balcony. This is a tradition of Pattaya hotels. If the hotel achieved 100% occupancy, the hotel owner will light fireworks. Small hotel, small fireworks. Big hotel, big fireworks. Common during high season.

OK, it's dinner time for me now. see you guys.
