Bangkok Runroaders, are you ready for the worst flood come next week ?

Maung Thong Thani is also flooded this afternoon with waste level water. I just spoke to my partner who lives in Chaeng Wattana behind Big C and he told me that his soi is wet from the flood water but he told me that news reported that tonight flood water will arrive at his home area about half a meter to 1 meter. Beware if you need to go to Chaeng Wattana.

Residents are erecting sand dykes barrier to protect Rangsit market, which is the economic centre.

Autumn in Japan is beginning now. When are you going to visit Drifter to smoke autumn weeds, I mean watch autumn leaves. :D

A maid with a Glock 33. That's something. I'd love to meet up with her to chat over guns and ammos. ;)

I will not be able to meet with drifter because I am visiting Hokkaido. Leaving tomorrow night arriving in Sapporo on Saturday morning. Back on 2nd but wife stay on until 9th.

You discuss with my maid can also smoke some pot with her.

OK. My cousin in Bangkok issued "travel advisory" to all family members in Singapore, don't go to Bangkok until further notice. She and her Thai husband will take care of themselves. So I'll have to wait for "further notice."

Bro, I'm worried. I need to go because so far they haven't said anything about flood in the Immigration Building, and more importantly, waiver for visitors who overstayed due to the flood.

Maybe it's time I asked Thaksin for a helicopter.

Hell there is no flooding, you can go. But before you go check tomorrow. Chaeng Wattana is going to be flooded tonight so check first. I so not expect the Immigation department to be flooded because they are just next to the main road and closer to Vibphavadi/Rangsit than the expressway Muang Thong Thani areas which is flooded. However Vibphavadi/Rangsit is already flooded at Rangsit area (1m) and may engulf IT Square very soon. Fuck it seems like its coming from everywhere. Anyway try to check first before you go. If I hear anything I will post. Take care bro.

KYP today as I said along Vibphavadi/Rangsit road at Rangsit market area its already 1m water and they are saying it will move south wards which is Bang Khen area. Also they are opening all floodgates. I really cannot tell you if got flood there. One thing for sure around Lak Si area which is where Vibphavadi/Rangsit exits into Chaeng Wattana and Ramintra always prone to flooding during rain meaning this is low area. I really cannot tell at this time.

Actually I am very worried if I cold get to the airport tomorrow evening to cat my 1035pm flight. May have to go very early.

Come to think of it Mochit/Chatuchak area also prone to flooding.

I am going there for their autumn season. So I don't expect any sun. I am trying to see autumn leaves.

My house will not be empty. I live in a Moo Baan, cluster housing and there are security guards 24hrs a day manning the entrance and also patrol. Also my maid is taking care of the house and my dog so I am not afraid. There is no such thing as looting in a Moo Baan. Maybe outside or roadsides yes but never in a Moo Baan, anyway maid has a Glock33 under her pillow with 2 spare magazines should be able to scare some rabbits.

How is the crime rate like in thailand? Is it worse or not as bad as sg?

KYP. Breaking news, Klong Prapa has broke it's bank and causing water to flow into Chaeng Wattana Road causing massive traffic jam. My friend is still driving on Chaeng Wattana updatng me speed is 1km per hour.

Good luck and be careful

Two of my cheongster friends just took bus to Hatyai last evening. They should be checking into hotel by now. They said they checked Hatyai no problem.

Sg is experiencing heavy rain on a daily basis but no floods unlike last year.

already covered backsides...

SINGAPORE: The National Environment Agency (NEA) said heavy thundery showers with gusty winds are expected over many areas of Singapore till 2:10 pm on Friday.

National water agency, PUB said flash floods may occur in low-lying areas in the event of heavy rain.

Flash floods have occurred at Upper Serangoon Road after PIE exit, next to the Woodsville Flyover.

PUB said two lanes are impassable to traffic, leaving just one lane for motorists.

A member of the public said the area along Potong Pasir Avenue 1 is also flooded.

I guess i didn't read the news that often but it's not such a big hoo ha unlike last year's catch phrase from the yacob about once in 50 yrs and that type of crap.

I checked in @ Immigration @ 10 am this morning, and left before 11 am.

The stretch from Mochit to Chaeng Wattana was dry and traffic was free flow. I opted for a taxi @ Mochit instead of waiting for the minivan. It turned out cheaper than the minivan because of there was zero traffic. The fare for minivan was 150 baht, which is a bit crazy as it took me only 10 minutes from Mochit to Chaeng Wattana without jam.

On my return, I had to make a U-turn and it was obvious that the direction towards Muangthong Thani was jammed. I was told the jam was caused by flood @ Muangthong Thani. I passed by IT Square before 12.00 noon and the road was still dry.

I was temporarily detained by the Immigration Officer, and my mind kept thinking of Chonburifc and his uniform fetish. The MILF asked if I could speak Mandarin because another staff was pretty frustrated with a PRC, and I was told to standby outside just in case they needed me to interpret.

I'm told that the road outside Immigration Building will be flooded in no time as water continued to overflow from the Klong along Muangthong Thani.

Singapore Foreign Minister Orders Singaporeans in Bangkok To Evacuate

All Singaporeans in Bangkok were ordered to evacuate to higher ground or areas that will be safe from the ravaging floods, as Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra declared to open floodgates in Bangkok to drain water out to sea.

The Singaporean foreign minister reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or MFA has ordered all Singaporeans in Bangkok to evacuate to areas that will not be affected by the inundation after Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra declared that floodgates in Bangkok will be opened in order to drain the water into the sea, which will cause flooding in eastern Bangkok.

The Singaporean foreign minister has also advised Singaporeans to avoid traveling to Thailand until the situation returns to normal.

I think I made the right gamble by going in the morning via Mochit. Just 1 and half hours later, this piece of news broke out:

Chaengwattana Road in front of Government Complex flooded
The Nation

The section of Chaengwattana Road in front of the Government Complex has been inundated, a senior police officer said Friday.

Pol Lt Col Bodin Phasuk, deputy chief of Thung Song Hong police station, said floodwaters continued to overflow the banks of Prapal Canal to inundate the road.

Bodin said the level of water was about 20 to 40 centimetres high.

Thailand canal are very dirty. So this so call control flooding of bangkok is not normal rain water, but more like sewage. Right?? Does that means that if it mixs with water from the tap, it wil be not a health situation. I guess thailand just cannot have a break from trouble.
