I experienced severe knee pain 2 years ago, and consulted an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital who recommended total knee replacement immediately after reviewing my MRI and x-ray reports. I then consulted another orthopaedist at NUH with the same films and reports. The public sector specialist referred me to a physiotherapist, and after 12 months of therapy, I am able to walk without almost any pain. I only experience some stiffness after prolonged sitting at work.
