You know SIA is in trouble ...

SIA just calibrating their service to competitors. If competitors offer crap service, why should SIA be streets ahead especially if the fare r about the same?? It's all about competition and profitability. How many times have we seen companies offering premium product at unsustainable prices and go bust and crap companies winnning the pie!

Sia has gotten way too complacent.......allowed the competition to get ahead of them....thinking that by offering better services they can stay ahead but there is no magic to what they are doing....those are just temporal ideas which gain a very slight edge over the competition and i think slowly they are realising that everybody else is doing the same thing and other airlines are offering more leg room or cheaper prices and they are in the middle of no fucking where ....

Wtf do u expect when they keep parachuting all these cheebye scholars with no real experience to run the airline....sooner or later sure crash.....

Bunch of fucking scholar clowns will be the death of this country.......

Their businesss might improve if they hired more kways to serve creampies......

instead of just fucking the big shits in their first class suites........

The best part about this story is when the sick couple approached an NHS hospital to seek preferential treatment, they were politely told to go the back of the queue.

A king of a small pond suddenly finds out it's not even a small fry in the bigger ocean or sea cos it's the UK.

hahaha....if scroobal is not bullshitting again....then he is a proud supporter of SIA, flying around in SQ flights....
he is prepared to pay a premium...supporting our National carrier and Temasick and papee......well done.

Its not a wonder they are probably (already) in trouble..

If all the regional airlines (JAL, Qantas, Thai, MAS etc etc) are doing badly, SIA with the same demographics and clientele and similar flight paths, should be having close to the same financial performance.

Just that someone has to have the nuts to announce it.

The gangster of a fishing village finds that he is just one of the "lesser mortals" among other foreigners .

Request for nuts is not asking for exceptional treatment.

That's the problem of the airline. If it sells itself based on service, then it had better deliver.

If the cabin crew did not hand over a packet of peanuts to 8868 while the beer was served, that means that no peanuts was suppose to be served on that sector.

It would be terribly unreasonable to ask the crew to go and search for a packet of peanuts in the aircraft while she was serving to 100 to 200 other passengers.

Like I said earlier if one expects the cabin crew to be at his beck and call, then he should not fly cattle class.

Maybe next time he may want to fly 1st class where SQ serves not only peanuts, but cashew & macadamia nuts and Brut champagne.

I once took a Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to Yangon. There were only about 15 of us in the plane. The flight stewardess just told us to take any food and servings we would like. I asked about why the flight still proceeded. She said that they had to since there were also passengers on the return trip (from Yangon).

What's happening now is what US went thru in the 80's.... deregulation. Rise of low cost carriers led to the demise of legacy carriers. Now budget airlines eating into state owned airlines profits

Only people who fail maths will fly economy on SQ. If you add a little bit to the price of the SQ economy ticket, you can often fly business class on many other carriers. Granted that the business class of these carriers might not be as posh as the SQ biz class. You however travel much more comfortably and get treated more politely than our increasingly grumpy SQ flight crew who believe that they are overworked and underpaid compared to their First World peers.

Addressing people by name is a practice usually found in Business Class and certainly in First class.

The stewardess is one of many serving the economy class ...she wasn't doing the work alone. Look at the CX gals ...you ask, they will bring.
To serve drinks without a snack, that's ludicrous. SQ charges premium fares compared to the other airlines and it doesn't even have snacks to accompany the drinks?
By the way, the stewardess didn't say there was no nuts but asked the pax to wait.

Like I said earlier if one expects the cabin crew to be at his beck and call, then he should not fly cattle class.
They say on the welcome announcement to ask for anything that will make your flight pleasant and comfortable. Pax was asking something totally reasonable. That's cattle class request.

Pax was just asking for peanuts or a snack ...SQ can't even provide that? That explains the decline of SQ.

Totally agree.

Peasants who can only afford to fly economy should learn to be less demanding and then all will be hunky dory.

Talk about the misbehaving PRCs, some of these unreasonable peasant Sinkies are just as bad and I'm terribly ashamed of them!

In the old days you could even past letters to an airline & they would make sure it gets sent out. One could also ask for a pack of cards to pass the time. They also provided small games like chess, checkers, ... to past the time.

On Pacific flights I always ask for an aisle seat so that I can go to the pantry & help myself to drinks & snacks.

How is asking for a snack to accompany the drink unreasonable?

The Ah Tiongs scream and shout and steal cutleries ...that is uncouth behaviour. Sinkees are far from that.
