Most of the time Singaporeans are frightened of how bad Singapore will become without the PAP. The fact is the PAP has already done an economic hitman on Singaporeans with investments that can only see light so many years into the future, when your productive life does not matter and LKY will be dead. What it means is you are effectively fucked now since such investments are difficult to liquidate quickly. Practice how it feels like to be poor now and for the next 2 years, you will get used to it as there will not be enough funds available to help you and the stingy old man will never give it you either. Once you get used to it, you can confidently vote opposition in 2011. Since you have been already fucked, you cannot get more fucked.

Oh dear, you must change that atrocious moniker name. This coming crisis will align more Singaporeans towards the government as the government always knows best and will always provide with the best. It is unthinkable that another party can replace the current regime and there is no doubt in my mind the next election result is clear. Long live LKY!
2 elections ago, in 2001, when we were in a recession, PAP won by a landslide victory, when everyone thought that the opposition will make headway.

If everyone of us have $1000 pork dividends or even more. Yes, something great is going to happen - PAP nationwide votes going below the psychological barrier of 60%. - The law of averages suggest that PAP can't lose only 2 seats with 50%+ votes.
The pork $$ can't reverse the trend, it will only lessen the impact.

Elections only make you sad. It raises the hope for change, then as the returning officer announce the results, you just have this sense of helplessness that grows and grows.
I've gave up at the last one. I've decided to be happy and not feel too much for my fellow Singaporeans. Nowadays, they just irritate me with their stupidity.
Afterall, I've benefited economically with PAP in power, there is no reason for me to feel for my fellow Singaporeans who suffer and yet condemn all the opposition members as people with low calibre.
I'll just buy all the GLC shares and watch them rip these people off while I sit back and collect dividends.
I think that, even in difficult times, we have to remain optimistic. Even if people think that we are doomed.
