Political parties hit out at one another all the time. One of their roles is to expose the shortcomings of each other for the electorate to see and judge.

Political heads strategise for their parties. So WP and SDP all have different styles and strategies. Concrete plans for the nation is the job of the ruling party.

Oppositions will have to concentrate on what their resources permit them to do in the current political climate. They have to win more seats in Parliament, accumulate more funds, get more people to join them first and field more candidates in the next general election.

When the opposition party has grown to a certain size, they will be able to contest to run Singapore. The role of MPs differs from that of the govt. MPs voice out for the people, run town councils and scrutinise policies.

All major opposition parties have their manifestos for election purposes. Only the govt forms the cabinet, devise policies and run Singapore with the civil service.

All true but Chee has spent all his energy on protest instead of trying plan policies. Do not give the excuse of lack of resources or information. Opposition parties are not given full access to all government records yet they can form policies that appeal to the electorate.

SDP is a tiny political party. It has even less resources than other bigger opposition parties. Despite this, Chee is still able to write good commentaries for SDP website and continue to post good, informative articles for the public.

Without adequate information, for eg. cost of building HDB flats, the exact figures for PRs, S'pore Citizens in unemployment figures etc, it is very difficult to have accurate data to do analysis work.

Other countries have laws to give citizens right to information (non-security related) and an independent media that provides good, balanced coverage and a fair political system etc for opposition to work in. All these are absence in Singapore.
