Garden in a City
Walking around Chai Chee, we stumbled into the most beautiful Green Corridor.

The resident was camera shy, but his eyes shone and his face lit up as he chatted at length with us the knowledge required to tend to his gorgeous plants. He hoped younger Singaporeans would be able to retain the love and knowledge he had for plants, and expressed great enthusiasm when asked why not work with the kids in the primary school next door to teach them all he knew about the subject?

Then his smile wavered, "But I don't know if the school would want me..."

I hope that our society realises just how much knowledge and value is locked away in our non-expert citizens, and that we find more ways to spread that knowledge, particularly when it is between generations.

“I’m suggesting that we have enough representation in Parliament,” Mr Low said. “So that after the elections, they have to think twice if they want to do anything, including the GST hike.”

“From past experience, it shows that the PAP is always capable of doing something, revising policies which will affect the lives of people after the general election,” Mr Low said on Saturday.

Mr Goh has only spoken once in Parliament since he was re-elected in 2011.

He spoke in a Parliamentary session in February 2013 in support of the 6.9 million Population White Paper. He was one of the 77 PAP MPs who endorsed the paper.

"On this note, Mr Deputy Speaker, I support the White Paper."

Would you vote for a 74-year-old who spoke only once? « Editorial « TR EMERITUS

Forget about all the recycled baseless rhetoric. Here are some simple facts.

Let's not forget that this is the first time that a GRC is run by the WP and indeed the opposition.

And the facts show that they have done a very good job indeed.

A rather good analysis setting the facts in proper context and in a simple to understand manner.

AHPETC actually performed better than most town councils despite receiving the least amount of govt help.

"AHPETC performs above the average Town Council in terms of the tax burden and operating expenditure per electorate.

"Furthermore, AHPETC is among the bottom 20% or the lowest in terms of support from the Government through Government Grants."

Mr Subra. All boys shiver when called to the vice principal's office when he was VP and disciplinarian. Good thing the only time I was called to his office was to receive an book for good work :)

"AHPETC also had cash of S$ 93.4 million and financial asset of S$12.6 million as of March 2014, compared to cash of S$ 35 million and financial assets of S$ 25.4 million as of March 2011. Is this not a sign of improving finances from the time WP took over the town council?"

From a resident in Aljunied GRC. Vote for WP !

Jun Yuan Lim

With the government dissolved, and the General Elections round the corner, The Workers' Party will continue to be my choice in Aljunied GRC.

Since 2011, when WP took over the town council, they have been doing an excellent job - with one of the first things being done is to bring down the S&CC, making it even more affordable for us residents. Estate management-wise, the entire town has been very well-maintained - clean and neat. Staff manning the hotline are very warm, friendly, prompt, and responsible (everytime I make a call to report an issue, it's always resolved within the next 12 hours - at times, I even receive a call back from them to inform me the issue has been solved).

In the parliament, the elected WP MPs have also did their utmost best to speak up and raise issues concerning us Singaporeans, along with coming up with suggestions for implementation - thoroughly impressed with their performance.

That said, I'd like to urge my friends staying in wards which WP will be contesting in to give them a chance to serve you by voting for them. I am confident they will do a good job in taking care of your needs as well as concerns.

Vote Workers' Party!
