No it's not because it's kelong under the guise of misfiring. Can beat big clubs but lost to minnows? = receiving kickbacks. That's what the Reds and some other clubs have been doing. This way may be less obvious but still people are able to see through because it's suspicious.

There's so much money in BPL for individuals and clubs, even if there is kelong money, it won't be worth it.
The reason is the mentality of the clubs, particularly the players.
For big games, they "raise their game" partly because of pride. They relax a little when playing minnows.
The league is so competitive that even a little bit of relaxation can cost them.
And of course also luck and circumstances, given that the tempo of the games are so high also increases the unpredictability.
