The latest and greatest HAZE updates and commentry

Re: Time for PAP to show leadership

Got leadership woh. :rolleyes:
He said that if any SG companies are found to be responsible for the fires and the haze, action will be taken against them.
Companies, individuals, government officials etc from other countries, can only LPPL. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Re: FAP's Solution to SMOG - Another Chorbolan Committee!

They should give back part of their pay over the years for being able to do nothing.

Re: Time for PAP to show leadership

more like time for PAP to show ball-less-ship and sinkieness-ship.

Read this before you condemn the "money no enough" Indon minister

I hate to say this, but I believe that I am right when I made the claim in my last post that the reason why Indonesia is pussyfooting and mocking Singapore, is because Sinkie govt has always been high handed and arrogant.

To top it up, we have had a long outstanding issue with Indonesia on the extradition of corrupt ex-govt officials from the Suharto era. Not to mention the billions of dirty money we are stashing away on our shores, which rightfully belongs to Indonesia. It is also seen that Singapore is dallying the return of airspace in the Riau Province to Indonesia.

All the above suddenly spurts out from Indonesia, accusing Singapore of 'acting like a child' when we talk about the haze issue. It certainly does look like the Indonesians are using this as the perfect payback time to settle long outstanding issues.

The PAPpy govt have screwed this one up big time. Because of their pompous nose-in-the-air and holier-than-thou attitude, they have rubbed the Indonesians the wrong way. The poor citizens of Sinkiepore are now made to suffer for the PAPpies mishandling of foreign affairs with our largest neighbour.

Re: All air purifiers, all models of all brands, all completely sold out across Singa

Is NEA endorsing these companies? So, if their systems don't work, you can sue NEA.

How stupid can NEA be? Instead of providing guidance of what to look for in cleaning systems or recommending systems, it is just putting up a list of retailers. Anyone can find retailers for air cleaning system.
If NEA doesn't say anything, you will also complain why no recommendation? Why are you always barking for the sake of it?

Re: FAP's Solution to SMOG - Another Chorbolan Committee!

The committee will be chaired by Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, with representatives from various ministries including the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

An environmental issue is to be tackled by the Defence Minister. What does that say about the competence of the Environment Minister?
Or Sinkapore is sending the signal to Indonesia that it is treating the haze issue as a matter of national security and will take military action?

The government will implement a special scheme to help those who suffer from respiratory problems and conjunctivitis because of the haze to offset their general practitioner's bill.

Young Singaporeans aged 18 and below, elderly Singaporeans aged 65 and above, CHAS card holders, PA and Medical Fee Exemption Card holders can see their general practitioners and pay S$10.

The Ministry of Health will settle the rest of the general practitioner's bill.

The consultation with the GP costs peanuts. The real expense is when one has to be hospitalized. That's where the government should be paying. But is it? Nope. Another wayang gesture. What can the GP do? Nothing.

If the government is serious about helping sinkees, these are tangible measures that will assist sinkees.

1. it should distribute N95 masks to sinkees (PRs and foreigners will have to buy them)
2. Provide 50 percent subsidy for the purchase of a air cleaning system;
3. Reduce electricity tariffs by 50 percent for the duration of the haze period;
4. Provide 50 percent subsidy for treatments of respiratory issues at hospitals.

Re: Read this before you condemn the "money no enough" Indon minister

I have met dumb sinkies who told me not to blame the useless pap govt for this haze....

Re: Read this before you condemn the "money no enough" Indon minister

You want Indons to manage airspace around sinkieland? Are you out of your mind? Even the Americans will disagree.

Re: FAP's Solution to SMOG - Another Chorbolan Committee!

" Camel is a horse designed by committee"

The idea is that the horse is the best design for the creature but when a committee comes together, everyone wants their own way and has different idea about how to do something. As a consequence the result is a camel from a compromise of ideas.

It is NOT a recommendation ...it is just a list of retailers. We didn't pay the NEA CEO $68 million to be mediocre. Even a junior manager can do better than that!

NEA should be giving guidelines to Sinkees on how to select the appropriate air cleaning systems. It can do better ...like arranging for sinkees to get substantial discounts for the purchase of such items.
It can make those arrangements BUT it won't. So sinkees are left to the mercy of ruthless retailers who will make a killing in the current environment.

Unfortunately, the pappies would rather die than relinquish all that ill-gotten money parked here. It's part of the thing about being a 'financial hub', you see.

NEA can and should do more.
They did hell of a lot more when sniping at opposition.
When comes to the real issues like haze, dengue and floods....they act blur.

Outgoing NEA CEO probably cursing and swearing liao at cancelled leave.
Incoming CEO shitting in pants at what he wrongly thot was a relaxed posting...
These jiakliaobee fucktards probably haven't worked this hard in a long time liao....

Re: All air purifiers, all models of all brands, all completely sold out across Singa

When are we going to nuke Indonesia ?
Since "a child" has spent so much moolah on military hardware , shouldn't he exercise the right to use it , besides 9 August :eek:
What ? No one got the balls to press the button ?:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Silent Hill can film its next movie here.

Re: All air purifiers, all models of all brands, all completely sold out across Singa

The government should take these measures now ....

1. Provide all sinkee households with N95 masks (PR and foreigners can afford to get their own);
2. Provide 50 percent subsidy for all sinkees to purchase air cleaning system; the poor will get it for free. Better still, government give every household a system for free;
3. 50 percent subsidy for every sinkee hospitalized for respiratory illness until the end of the year;
4. Reduce electricity tariffs for households by 50 percent for the duration of the haze.

Simple measures that can help sinkees immediately while they figure out how to deal with the Indons. Why isn't the PAP doing it?

Re: All air purifiers, all models of all brands, all completely sold out across Singa

looks like we singaporeans have a typical mindset from the citizen right to the government
when the government implement something that we don't like, we just make noise and that's about it - no further action
now similarly
when other country is screwing you up, our govt just makes some noise and that's about it ..
