Speak Dialects, you feel tribal ! Speak mandarin, it will break unity!

道可道 = the way is the way (translation) or thou kerb thou (transliteration)

so tell uncle the meaning leh if you really know, are you even sure this is from tao de ching? ...LOL

道可道也,非恆道也。名可名也,非恆名也。 「無」,名天地之始;「有」,名萬物之母。 故,常「無」,欲以觀其妙;常「有」,欲以觀其徼。 此兩者,同出而異名,同謂之玄。玄之又玄,眾妙之門

u tell me i tell you where you go wrong

if the 'dao' could be told, that would not be everlasting dao.

if the 'ming' could be name, that would not be the everlasting 'ming'.

give you these first two lines. tell me. would it make a difference if i recite it in dialect or mandarin?

dialects approximate to the sounds of old and middle chinese and gives you a better appreciation of the ancient text...since you cannot handle shijing, i give you another example from lao zhi...

「有物混成,先天地生,惟象無形,窈窈冥冥,寂寥淡漠,不聞其聲,吾強為之名,字之曰道。」

tell uncle whta it says in mandarin and uncle teach you where you go wrong

first of, u have to drop the uncle. because u don't deserve that.

not dialect but old chinese ..... and not just two lines, you need to give me the whole verse...dun be lazy leh...two lines only

dun be afraid to tackle the real issue leh.... why so scared?

its not me scared. the problem is with u. why would u need to posture yourself superior than me? if u do have substance, u don't need to keep remind people about it.

u wanna tackle issue, then just drop the attitude.

if u have something to say, just say it. why come up with all kind of silly stunt? put a 恒 instead of 常 and what not?

question for u is, if i could recite the dao de jing in mandarin, why bother to recite it in ancient chinese if i am not fanatic for sino research?

you know the meaning but cannot tell us what is it because? why?

because i don't like to play game. if u have something, you would state it. u don't have anything. its just some silly game u wanna play.

dao de jing, recite it in mandarin, the meaning would not be lose. do u agree with that? yes or no?

there are two versions of tao te ching, you mean you dunno? do you know which is the historical one and which was the popular one? do you know why there is a difference in terms of wording? the sounds holds the key.
