Something Happened at Police Cantonment Complex Today

Before CID posting, he was an IO in Geylang Police Div. In CID, he was with Specialised Crime, dealing with SS, Vice and Gambling.

Bro GD, as an SSI in CID, does he carry his weapon around at all times? Or does he need to go and draw it for duty?

It appears that he was at home, following which his family made the call for assistance, then he went to the office.

He went out with a bang.. Sad case.. Shouldn't have happened that way..

I remember a case years back when a CNB officer shot himself in a toilet at World Trade Centre.. If not mistaken it happened in the early 2000s when Vivo City was yet built.. He was then havin a relationship problem with his GF a Malay nurse..

Police officer found dead with gunshot wound
Updated 07:58 PM Jul 04, 2012SINGAPORE - A Police Senior Station Inspector was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head at Police Cantonment Complex this morning.

In a statement, the police said they received a call from Senior Station Inspector Leong Shee Chun's family requesting for help as the officer was emotionally distressed. He was not on duty at the time of incident.

Police officers immediately commenced a search of the location given, said the police. The 38-year-old was found at about 5am in his office, with a gunshot wound to his head and his personal-issued service revolver was found beside him.

The police said a single discharged round was found in the chamber of the revolver, and the other four rounds were found in the chamber. The officer was pronounced dead by paramedics at 5.20am.

JW5 question still unanswered me think:o

Yeah, tks. It may be personal issued, i.e. weapon is solely allocated to him, but he may not be having it off duty.
Not familiar with such matters, so asking.
I wanted to know if he had the weapon when he was at home too.

Seems to be a sad and tragic case.

if never remember wrongly, SI and above all got personal issued revolver. some lower rank due to their duty also got. but usually we wont want to bring it home, troublesome. later misfire or lost, chialuk!!!

Is it opportune to ask whom he voted for now?

A story. Once upon a time, CPIB officers went to a police detective home to arrest him. Following procedures, they asked to seize his personal issued revolver. He surrendered his 5 round loaded weapon. When asked for the rest of the 5 rounds of ammo, he asked his wife where they were. The wife directed them to the back of the wardrobe and they found the rounds taped to it. I don't believe they went as far as asking for the cleaning kit.

I think I'll wait for GD's reply and thank you moonlightaffairs for your reply.

This would not have happend had the Police Inspector seek CHC and Pastor Kong for help in solving his issues in life. He would have a new lease of life in with Pastor Kong and Christ by his side. It might cost him 10% of his pay but he would have gone to Heaven after his natural time has lapsed on Earth. Instead he is now on his way to Hell and suffer the fate of all suicides, eternal damnation!

Some times you can't help but hand it to Singaporeans. When it comes to the crunch, we are still truly considerate people.

In other countries, a depressed person with firearm would more likely go to a crowded venue and open fire at everyone before getting subdued or shot dead by SWAT.

Think about it.

Truly a very tragic end to such a young life.
I feel sorry for his family and little ones.
Every household has problems by itself.
Then there are work-problems at office to contend.
This two if left unchecked will become a lethal weapon of sorts.
What more we have these officers with self-issued revolvers.
Who is heading the Police Psychological Unit?
Are there avenues for such "stressed officers" to turn to.?
Would this people later be "condemned" for seeking psychological help?
The SPF should look into the problems affecting their officers.
If possible employ more officers.
If we can buy expensive bicycles for NEA with Minister's approval, surely MHA can do something like that for officers well-being.
Mr TCH will want to comment as MHA and DPM...
I am waiting for such Press Releases..

You are wrong! The Police Inspector has invited Jesus into his heart and invoked the sacred names of the Loving Shepherd Kong Hee and Blessed Virgin Sun Ho before pulling the trigger. It was not suicide, but martyrdom. His soul is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

Yeah sure, and you won't be a retard gay dog if you gave pastor kong a good blow job.:)

LOL! Sinkies will always be the self-repressed sheep that they are. :D

In the SPF, all senior officers have their personal issue. Can carry around 24/7/365. When leaving S'pore, leave it in the armoury.

For detectives in the good old days, IOs and other plainclothes officers, no need to return arms.

Uniformed officers sign in and sign out when on and after duties. If there is a need to perform plainclothes duty, they can sign out their arms.

In Leong's case, his family called the police when he was in PCC.
