Smoking

So, from the way I post you must ASSUME I'm a smoker? That speak volume for your intelligence. As I've repeated many times, It's not about smoking, but human behaviour. Now you are being cornered and switched to a defensive mode and that made you "incoherent" (using this term first does not exonerate you from being one).

You have already mentioned you do not care whether anybody read this thread or not. Similarly smokers out there would not bothered whether you smell their smoke or not.

And you have demonstrated your selfishness by saying: "But I do care if someone's smoke is bothering me".

So, essentially, you only care about yourself. OK, not surprisingly with that, just that you should expect others to also care about themselves and NOT you!

Why are you so worked up huh? Maybe you should study your own "human behaviour". I don't care if smokers smoke in designated smoking spots or smoking rooms. But I care if they smoke outside my house and think that smoke won't get into my house just because they blow it skywards.

Your analogy of reading online threads and smoking is so far out that it is incoherent. Please use a better analogy. maybe you need a smoking break to help you "focus"?

smoker always think that smoking is something private and personal and they can do it as long as they do not do it 'near' other people..

they seem to think that smoking is the same as chewing betel nut.. please lah smoking is not the same. unless u can find a confine room without windows with u inside only, your smoke is going to affect someone.

if smoking is without the smelly air emission that follows, then i am ok with it. i am even ok with the harmful effects of passive smoking. i just can't stand the smoke smell.

even if there is total ban on SMOKING just like chewing gum,we can also get killed by others.
there are more potent killers out there than smoking.
if the government or the world is so concern about those ill effects cause by smoking, then why these so called cigarettes' manufacturers countries do not totally ban it and stop manufacturing it. instead they find new markets in those third world countries.

i am a smoker also,i will love to see a country be brave enought,to implement total ban of smoking in their country. hopefully it is here in Singapore.
for me,no point talking, ban here, ban there...trying to restrict those smoking areas. it will only work for awhile. we only see a decrease for a short period but those new smokers is always much more than those who quit.

I don't really care if you read this thread or not. I am offering a solution since you are so worked up over this thread.

But I do care if someone's smoke is bothering me.

Actually, you are quite incoherent in your post, maybe you should smoke less.

Keep this thread going.

Smoking is such an interesting product - because it is the only consumer product in the world that when used properly as per instructed will led to the consumer to their eventual death/illness.

Smoking is such an interesting product - because it is the only consumer product in the world that producer NEED NOT advertised yet the consumer will still go back and buy them "faithfully"/addictively.

Smoking is such an interesting product - because it is the only consumer product in the world that allow the consumer to inhaled 4000+ chemicals, which only one - Nicotine that they desired. The rest 4000+ are added to ensure "customer loyalty".

Well the list goes on. ....

Smokers can never understand how foul cigarette smell is and how quickly and wide it spread, or indeed, how long it lingers on.

That's why they always feel that non-smokers are nitpicking or being difficult, etc.
That's what I'm trying to tell them in this thread.
And also that I don't pass judgement on their smoking, but I have to speak up if their cigarette smoke bothers me.

Aiyah, talk so much cock for what? Those who want to smoke, go & smoke. Those who don't, don't smoke lah. No need to pretend like saint to "educate" other people. Your own posts stinks, are you going to listen to my feedback?

Those who drink can also kill themselves and also other innocent passerbys. Why don't you kaypoh & go and campagne a total ban? Hypocrites!

If you choose to be a pedestrian, you can also be killed. Go figure out the stats out there, tweet!

If you can't understand simple English, that's your shortcomings, don't blame others for poor analogy.

Why do keep accusing me of being "worked up" and being a smoker? Keep insisting your points despite unproven shows that you are such a shallow minded person. Hey, how many adjectives have I used on you? Yah you deserved all 20s.

No wonder your shallow brain can't talk about other subjects other than nick picking on some unpopular people out there. Makes you feel a hero right, Mr Hypocrite?

Hypocrites are people who say one thing but mean another. I have been unambiguously clear about my stance and objection to smoking.

For someone wants this thread closed and dead, you are strangely doing your best to keep it alive! Quite hypocritical, if you ask me.

Smoke clouding your brain again?

Wow! your stupidity has no boundary. Do you actually believe I can stop/continue with this thread by myself? You are damn fugging stupid!

See! the more I make you feel like an idiot, the more you want to continue behave like one.

Oh, of course I'll go away. You, adult is too busy with your "adult games". Lemme guess... sarking your daddee's cog?

Let me tell you, if you have nothing else to debate relevant to the topic, don't try starting anything here, I'm game if you do.

Yah, why don't you "saint-wannabe" go out and try to educate the smokers out there instead of hiding here and kaopeh.

smoker always think that smoking is something private and personal and they can do it as long as they do not do it 'near' other people..

and one asshole neighbour of mine who smokes every night at his/her own balcony (private space at home), and my whole family still get to enjoy his 2nd hand smoke... there is nothing we can do about it..

smokers are like that one lah.. they will say its their freedom and choice to smoke..

they never think that the smelly tobacco smoke lingers and stinks all other clothes/places nearby..

maybe next when you feel like shitting, you should go shit in your neighbour's toilet and stink up his house..:D give them a taste of their own medicine mah..

If you want this thread dead, continually engaging in it is certainly not going to make it so. So yes, as long as you are posting in this thread, you are continuing the thread. I worry about your intellectual capacity. How many do you smoke a day anyway? 40?

Nah, stupid, it was never my intention to stop or continue with this thread. Since I'm so free now might as well disturb the donkeys here a little. Hey! it actually worked!

where can i get e-cigarettes and roughly how much including refill?thanks!

Quoted from a ex-smoker:

"Being an ex-Biology major....not that I could add much to the science already posted, but the whole addicting atmosphere and why it is such a problem with cigarettes is based in many different areas, not just chemical.

Smoking is an approved, yes APPROVED, method of delivery for a SOCIALLY accepted drug. Just like alcohol. However, neither of these are treated as DRUGS. We treat alcohol as a drink and smoking as...well...just something to do to feel better. This makes access easy.

The chemical addiction, is of course to nicotine. Smokers smoke to alleviate stress and become focused. These are scientifically proven results from smoking nicotine. However, it is only due to the method of delivery, which is inhalation. This provides the fastest route to the brain, other than injecting it directly into the blood stream, which could prove toxic or even fatal. The brain likes nicotine and it does it's mojo and bam.

One of bad things about nicotine, is that it doesn't last very long in the brain. It is processed pretty quickly, depending of course on how much a smoker have smoked. But the brain will want more. So in essence, while smokers are smoking MORE to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, smokers are also smoking more cigarettes to alleviate stress, which is basically stacked. Stress from withdrawal PLUS stress from the environment = MORE stress than just being stressed from the environment.

Another part of the addiction lies in the behaviour of smoking. Smokers all smoke in different places...and get used to it. Smokers get addicted to pulling the cigarette out...lighting it...and taking that first drag. Holding it in their hand. The whole hand to mouth thing. All addiction.

The addiction lies in the nicotine and behaviour. All this combined, makes smoking the most difficult addiction to treat/quit."

That's an interesting concept.
I have also come to the conclusion that the addicition to smoking is not simply the nicotine.
It is also the act of buying the cigarettes, the act of offering one to a friend and getting one from a friend, the act of "knocking" out the cigarette from the pack, the act of lighting, the act of puffing, even the way you hold the cigarette between puffs.
The whole process is an addiction.
But as I have been saying all along, do they realize how inconsiderate they are when there are non smokers who have an aversion to cigeratte smoke around when they smoke?
